For sure, just going off fact that you said you cant get the big storage, and talkimg about serious emergency situations only.
Shouldnt be much chemicals coming off a roof that gets rained on a lot and isnt new. But any that do usually float to the top, and ypu can drain from the bottom of thr collection contsiner and discard the last bit if you are worried.
And the bird shit and stuff doesnt really matter because you should be treating/filtering before drinking anyway.

In 2012, Toronto resident Adi Astl spent about $550 of his own money to build a simple wooden staircase giving safer access to a local park trail after learning the city estimated an official staircase could cost between $65,000 and $150,000.
City crews later removed the staircase over safety and permit concerns, but the story quickly went viral across Canada. Then-Mayor Rob Ford personally thanked Astl for the effort, and after public attention grew, the city eventually installed a new official staircase for around $10,000 — far less than the original estimates.

I've just got final confirmation that the warranty will not be covering this event (I bought the highest level warranty, FYI).
So kind of unsure what to do and X is full of smart people. What do you think?
The warranty terms and conditions are pretty clear about this particular event, so I don't think there is any fighting it - my most legal leverage is with the dealer that sold it to me.
Otherwise, I've got a $13-26k repair bill on a $22k vehicle I drove for 3 weeks.
I have a few options I am exploring but I am open to any and all further suggestions, I love to see what creative solutions yall cook up.

Yeah, the engine on this thing blew. Kind of a freak accident: coolant hose leak to the turbo resulted in a minor overheating incident and destroyed a piston, head gasket, etc. Never threw a code or had any symptom of an issue. Fortunately, extended warranty is going to cover new engine + labor. Very thankful to have been talked into the premium warranty on this one. Bad things transmute into good things.

they didn't 'get it done', becuase the got dismantled, which the city also paid for. Which means now it will have cost even MORE than the city's original esitmates.
the point that it absolutely COULD be done for way less is real. But everybody already knew that. This guy running in and making shitty ones didn't help anything. Just made the problem worse

Also doesn't have the deterrence effect. Multiple ne'er do wells intending to do you harm, maybe themselves armed with clubs or knives, aren't likely to be dissuaded by a lone defender pulling out a baton. A gun on the other hand...

FYI: collapsible batons are much cheaper than guns, don’t need licensure and are a lot less of an escalation simply to draw but are scary enough to deter and extend your reach by >1’ if not. I got my Smith & Wesson for $50. Break their legs and run! (Check legality in your area.)
