When I ran for Congress 8 years ago – it was because I knew that God had given me more time on this earth after beating cancer to serve our nation and to make America freer and stronger.  Over four terms, I have unapologetically fought to do that – letting the Constitution and the principles of limited government it reflects be my guide.  I am proud of my record – imperfect of course – but rooted in my belief in God and in a nation that exists to preserve the rights of man against Marxism, Islamism, and the oppression of tyranny… even the ever-increasing tyranny of our own government at home. I have fought hard and without fear  – trying to follow the law and do things the right way.  It matters that leaders stand up and say what needs to be said no matter the consequences – or we stand to lose it all in the pursuit of political expediency. In my campaign for Attorney General of Texas, I wanted to fight for Texans as their lawyer on the critical fights of our day: that Texas is not free enough, not secure enough, not strong enough, not Godly enough – and too often… is being sold to the highest bidder.  I tried to run a campaign worthy of this great state in which my family has lived since 1853.  I tried to be tough but honest.  I tried to earn the support of the voters of Texas, not to buy it… and I tried to tell the people the truth, not lies. I am proud of my campaign.  And I am proud of and humbled by the support from so many Texans – volunteers, donors, colleagues, friends, family, and people from all walks of life.  In the words of the Apostle Paul, “[we] fought the good fight, [we] finished the race, [we] kept the faith.” it was not our time. But this is all God’s time.  And we are all just living within it. We have a state and a nation to save.  Onward.

Last night was a decisive victory for Republicans across Texas! Congratulations to every Primary Runoff winner and to the thousands of conservatives who poured their time, energy, and effort into these races. From the grassroots activists knocking doors, to the volunteers making calls, to the Texans who showed up to vote - Republicans across this state sent a message loud and clear: The conservative movement in Texas is alive, energized, and growing stronger! Under the leadership of Chairman Abraham George, the Republican Party of Texas has continued building momentum, strengthening grassroots engagement, and uniting conservatives around the values that make Texas the strongest Republican state in the nation. The primary may be over, but our mission has never changed. Texas Republicans are already doing the work - organizing communities, growing the movement, turning out voters, and fighting to keep Texas strong, conservative, and free. And after last night, the momentum is only growing stronger. Let’s keep moving forward together and win big in November.

Texas Republican voters, you had your votes cancelled out in March by my opponent’s campaign brazenly calling for Democrats to vote in our primary. Read the message below carefully. My opponent not only wanted Democrats to vote, she wanted so many Democrats to vote to avoid a runoff! That didn’t happen but there’s no telling how many Dems are being recruited to vote in the runoff. And that not only hurts me, it hurts your other favorite conservative candidates - because her Dems aren’t voting for them either. Don’t let it happen. Redouble your efforts and get more people out to VOTE TODAY. And if you know someone considering my opponent, show them this and change their mind. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
