He later was sentenced to exile because he refused to recant what he had said, and maintained it was true. There are only 2 options: 1. He knew it was all a fabrication but he wrote the gospel, suffered persecution and exile for a complete lie. 2. It was true.

@TheThriftyDev @jenny2x4 Christianity holds that Jesus is God and was the Messiah meanwhile he didn’t fulfill the requirements to be the Messiah. And even if he was, the Messiah being a divine being was invented by Christians. The Hebrew word for Messiah is for a human leader.
