My mom grew up in a farm in SW MN and she never had running water or electricity until she got married at age 18 (1959) and moved to town. They didn’t even have a tub, they did “sink baths” with a bucket of water in a quiet corner of their storage room, my grandpa put up a shower curtain for privacy. They finally got an indoor toilet in the early 60’s.

I took many baths in a metal tub growing up. It was all we had. And we hauled the water in barrels or whatever we had.
