INCIDENT TYPE: Nationwide June 25 Protest
*UPDATE 3 | 1200 HRS*
*Nairobi County:* At approximately 10:05 AM, police dispersed a crowd at Kangemi Bridge along Waiyaki Way.
At approximately 10:15 AM, long-distance buses were prevented from proceeding to the Nairobi CBD at Uthiru.
At approximately 10:45 AM, a group of protesters was arrested along Moi Avenue in the CBD.
At approximately 11:05 AM, a section of United Opposition leaders and some aggrieved families began marching along Uhuru Highway towards Parliament to lay wreaths.
At approximately 11:05 AM, an additional police roadblock was mounted along Magadi Road at the Bangla area. Traffic from Ongata Rongai towards Galleria was affected.
At approximately 11:20 AM, police arrested three protesters at the Kencom Bus Stop in the CBD and booked them at Central Police Station.
At approximately 11:25 AM, police lobbed tear gas at a United Opposition motorcade along Uhuru Highway as it headed towards Parliament to lay wreaths. The group later reached the cordoned-off Parliament precinct.
*Kiambu County:* At approximately 10:05 AM, police lobbed tear gas to disperse protesters heading towards the CBD in Githurai 45 along Thika Road.
At approximately 10:30 AM, police engaged protesters in running battles in Githurai 45 along Thika Road.
At approximately 10:50 AM, Kiambu Town remained calm.
*Kisumu County:* At approximately 10:05 AM, Kondele Roundabout in Kisumu Town remained calm, with normal traffic flow and business operations.
*Mombasa County:* At approximately 10:30 AM, a peaceful demonstration was reported along Digo Road in Mombasa.
*Trans Nzoia County:* At approximately 10:20 AM, Kiminini Town remains calm.
*Nakuru County:* At approximately 10:50 AM, two activists were reported marching along Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru. Anti-riot police remained on standby.
*Nyeri County:* At approximately 11:30 AM, the Nyeri business community reportedly deployed approximately 100 private security guards to protect business premises in Nyeri Town. Heavy police presence was reported.
*ADVISORY:* Members of the public are advised to steer clear of protest hotspots where possible and allow additional travel time due to roadblocks and congestion.
