Your tax dollars just paid a French oil company to stop building American electricity, and the gas it’s being replaced with is getting shipped overseas to Europe and Asia.    The Trump Administration is PAYING to kill projects that would have lowered your costs.      They tried to kill these projects through the courts and lost. So instead of accepting that, they wrote a billion dollar check with YOUR money, and they are trying to do it AGAIN.    I introduced an amendment to stop Trump from using your tax dollars like an ATM to keep your utility bills high.

In the last 72 hours, Taiwan has gotten a heavy dose of the reality that Ukraine, Poland, Denmark and others have seen up close and personal. Just because you have been an ally for decades through admins of both parties, the US is not your friend as long as Trump is president.

At the request of President Trump, @SpeakerJohnson has desk drawered a bill for Ukr Aid, knowing it would easily pass and putting Trump in an awkward position. To Congressmen Meeks, @DonJBacon and others, this was unacceptable given consistent 70% polling of US support for Ukraine. Using a protocol called a ‘Discharge Petition,’ they have overridden Speaker Johnson, forcing the bill to the floor. In the next two weeks of session, the bill will come to vote. It will pass with an anticipated vote of +65%, forcing Trump to sign or veto it. Although Trump has been consistently opposed to further Ukrainian aid, a veto is a risky proposition given a 2/3ds override is quite possible and would appear to undermine President Trump’s position.
