@TrillBroDude fair. I will say the fanbase was largely ecstatic when we signed PG, as getting a playoff-caliber wing without giving up multiple firsts seemed worth the gamble. I think it’s easy to be revisionist now that we’ve seen the results

Morey gave Embiid a Supermax extension after the injury. It was his choice ultimately. He was already GM for four years at that point. He then tripled down on his stars & scrubs approach that didn’t work by giving out another massive max contract to 34 year old Paul George. Just after punting on a season for the second time in three years. The only way we got a fourth good player on the team was bottoming out after his all in move to win a title. Meanwhile he bled young talent that we needed on the fringes of the roster if you wanna have this approach to team building and he never pushed in the chips when we actually had a chance to win. So no.

I’ve been a Nurse defender. He isn’t a perfect coach but the MVP he came to coach got hurt in his first season. I think he got a lot out of a middling roster that was bad when guys were injured & exceeded my expectations. I would still imagine he’s on the hot seat moving forward.
