This can’t be right… A train journey from Penn Station in New York to the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey normally costs $12.90 or just under a tenner. During the World Cup this summer that same ticket will cost $150 (£110.75)! Some might say it’s just about supply and demand but they have closed all the car parks at the stadium and there are no concessions - that’s $600 for a family of 4!

@Vital_Walsall Since that bizarre video from the board which suggested urgent improvement was expected on the pitch, we’ve taken 4 points from 6 games which is relegation form in any league anywhere. What are they doing? They haven’t got a clue.

@MickeyBeardmore I can’t be bothered to go any more. I dare say I will at some point, but there’s no enjoyment in watching us play this way. I can barely be bothered to watch it on tv. It is so desperately poor.

I get paid to attend Walsall games to write reports. A privilege, many would say. Used to be... I dont have to pay to get in unless I choose to attend as a fan. I've chosen to miss 5 of last 6 games incl tonight. Turned down money. Am I a fickle fan? Or right to have had enough?

@gbennett1997 Desperate stuff, that. Any hope last week’s creditable point at Grimsby was a harbinger of happier times ahead has pretty much been extinguished already. Ironic that the goal came from us trying to play out from the back for the first time since 2022.

Walsall trail at the break and deservedly so. Farquharson's error gifted Hepburn-Murphy the opener on the half-hour mark and there has been zero response. Not an attempt, let alone one on target in the first 45. #Saddlers

@MovieWaveDotNet Many many years ago I read an interview with Gerard Schurmann, who orchestrated Lawrence for Jarre - he said something along the lines of the only thing Jarre actually wrote was the main tune and the timpani, everything else was Schurmann's doing. Could this be accurate?

@gbennett1997 We’ve seen this story before. Sadler did so well to bounce back at the start of this season but he’s lost it again now. It’s just not working. Time for a change while there’s still chance for someone else to make an impact.

@ribbonpodcast agreed - forwards not the issue. Get the ball up the flanks and put crosses onto Jamma's head and he will score goals. Thread through balls to Kanu and he will score goals. But we don't play in a way that lets those two things happen, just launch balls forward and hope.

@WFCOfficial Truly dire. Our awful style of play is only tolerable if we win. Watching 30pc possession and continual hoofball in a home game against relegation fodder is just repellant when we don’t win.

@ribbonpodcast It’s painful to watch but I don’t care so long as we win. At the first sign of a repeat of the second half of last season (which is, I guess, right now) I would like to see us change. We won’t though, not with Sadler.

We’ve been discussing this subject and wanted to see what the fans take is. As a fan are you happy with our current style of play? Low possession, counter attacking football, route one Or is it wearing thin and you’d like to see us hold possession and play through the thirds?

@MickeyBeardmore Our style of play is so bad to watch - I couldn’t care less as long as we’re winning, but when we’re not it is the pits. If Kanu departs then what’s left looks a lot less than what was left when Lowe left.

That was depressingly similar to second half of last season. Failing to score when on top. Gifting opposition goals with individual howlers. Looking at 6s & 7s at back after falling behind. Not enough goal threat. We've been poor for weeks but had got away with it mostly.

@SimonCalder This makes me very sad. Some special memories with my family of some of these special places and we were planning a road trip next year which would have gone through a couple of the parks on the list, but probably priced out of it now. What a shame.

@DanNeidle This is really interesting. Is there any data like this which shows the proportion of tax paid by income level? Because the current narrative suggests this is disproportionately skewed towards upper centiles in Uk and I’m interested if that’s any different to elsewhere.

The reality is we pay a pretty average level of tax in international terms (I need to update this, but the overall picture is little changed)
