6m ago I would have said I’d be teaching for life, but sadly, in perspective, I think this academic year will be my last. My family and wellbeing are more important to me than anything else and it has taken time for me to realise this. System = broken. Something needs to change!

5 years teaching and I’ve lost all my motivation. Things have happened at work that have made me think - is it really worth it? The system is broken! I feel unprotected and somewhat shameful. I took 2 weeks off before Easter to get myself together and I think 1/3

It’s actually made things worse as I’ve had time to think about it all. 5 years, 3 in this school, pastoral lead, international trips organised and supported on and for what? It’s not the fault of the school, it’s the fault of the system. Go back 2/3

@Just_Maths I will try and get a copy if I can. It allows us to download all their papers from the relevant exam board for us to review them. They would then file the appeal themselves if we suggested it would be worthwhile.

@MrCraystonMaths So does the form cover every subject? Does it cover all the options … access to scripts, review of marking etc Don’t suppose you could DM me a copy?

Maths people … tell me your process for identifying and then dealing with reviews of exam marking … who gets forms signed etc

@bphillipsonMP Instead you will put schools in financial noticed to improve demanding they cut costs - by reducing teaching assistant hours. Failing our kids even further!

Children with SEND will always have a legal right to support. Labour will not just protect but improve that support. But I'll take no lessons from the Tories, who left behind a 'lose, lose, lose' system in their own words. I don't know how they have the brass neck.

@1stclassmaths agreed. I run a live revision masterclass on the Monday, however it is a paid revision session as part of my tutoring. I do this for anyone doing Edexcel foundation. I only charge £15 per session though and cap it. Only started these this year but have been well received.

think it might be good if we, as a profession, collected a list of high quality streams that were occuring the night before. Unfortunately I don't have the capability of time to do this myself but there is plenty of good stuff out there to suggest to students for paper 3.

1/2 I’m taking 47 students on a trip of a lifetime to New York. With a maths and business focus. They are doing football cards to raise money to help offset the cost of their trip. Quite a lot of the 47 students I am taking are PP so we want to help them with the costs.
