In this week's Portraits series, we visit Baker for the annual Arcade Day! Arcade Day is the culmination of the Mythological Arcade Project, which challenges students to use @bloxels to create an original iPad video game based on a myth or historical event.

Ss from @BakerMiddle creating a Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) in which they research and present information about ancient China and how it impacts their lives. They do this in 20 minutes. They love writing on the glass with the glass markers.

Another great trip by @BakerMiddle Ss to @DIADetroit I still get excited to see their reaction s to this world-class museum. Thank you to the DIA for always being so welcoming! It is an amazing place.

One of the fun parts of the chariot project is @BakerMiddle Ss go off script for the design competition part of the project. Creative designs everywhere. In a few days we’re able to develop months of relational capacity and trust by using the chariot as a conversation piece.

@PlayCraftLearn Group spirt and pride much more evident. Teams want to “win” and have best builds. More importantly because we mixed Minecraft abilities in the groups the kids are really supporting each other while showing expertise.

Amazing evening in @troyschools district this evening as the @tfee_troy held the Chang the World Celebration of Learning. The TFEE funded student ideas to better their schools and community. Great job by all. Inspiring to see our students ideas come to fruition.

Very proud of my daughter Carmen who was selected to present a wreath at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for an essay she wrote about my grandfather who was a tail gunner in a B24 during WWII. She is having a great time on her 8th grade trip! Thanks to @MiddleSaline for this.
