I've been trading crypto since i went down the rabbit hole about 7 years ago but i've never seen anything like last nights meltdown. I don't do TA but i do look at charts a lot and yesterday has been very different from the April 7-9th crash. Many alts nuked to ATLs due to liquidity drying up extremely fast, especially on CEXes that couldn't process orders anymore. But for some reason, there is hasn't been a sustained recovery, even though we just had BTC and ETH making new all time highs and the overall bull market powered by regulatory tailwinds. I would argue that early April was 10x worse in terms of uncertainty and risk of an imminent global recession than Trump‘s newest China tariff threat. If you compare the chart of alts (here for example $AR and $EIGEN) crashing in April vs yesterday you see what I mean. It's spooky.

SOMEONE ACTUALLY MEASURED HOW MUCH DUMBER CLAUDE GOT. THE ANSWER IS 67%. the data shows Opus 4.6 is thinking 67% less than it used to. anthropic said nothing until the numbers went public. then suddenly Boris Cherny (creator of Claude Code) shows up on the GitHub issue. users are calling it "AI shrinkflation" (same price, less intelligence) we already know from the leaked source code that they have an internal switch that keeps the models working to their full extent for anthropic employees. in the last week Claude went from WOW to being a more restricted and expensive version of ChatGPT. people are saying Anthropic is deliberately downgrading Opus to save compute for training Mythos, their next model.

Since launch, Sonic has become the home of the ecosystem - users, builders, liquidity, and validators have all made the move. With that transition complete, Fantom Opera will be retired on June 30, 2026. The Fantom Opera network will cease operation at 5:00 PM GMT on June 30, 2026. If you have not migrated your assets, please do so before then. This serves as official notification of the network closure. The ERC-20 FTM → S route and Sonic Gateway are not affected. another all time high in shielded zcash so, now we have: - zec hashrate ATH & distribution ATH - more miners on the way - zec shielded ATH - the best quantum proofing for an L1 & privacy - reduced blocktimes and sync times + scaling work underway - new dev team backed by balaji, a16z, paradigm working on product, protocol, and wallet - 2 new dev teams working on scaling and physics - new payments teams spinning up all at a time where the market need for privacy, quantum proofing, and internet-native SoVs is increasing zcash is one of the very few things that keeps me fired up about crypto and its future atm

this is extremely good news the most uncomfortable part of zcash for me had been the hashrate concentration in one pool (it was over 60% at one point) but as competition increased, it's now way better and improving every day 1,000 days for encrypted money to win before AOC

Airline websites are still garbage even though Claude Code exists. > be me, wanna link Qatar and British Airways Avios points > go to Qatar, press "Link avios". Nothing happens > try via BA, links to Avios website > doesnt work, email addresses are different > try change Qatar email address to BA one > email invald > WTF > change to different alias > change BA to same alias > "technical difficulties" > use a hammer to destroy my laptop and burn it > feel calm again

It took @ResolvLabs 3h to pause their protocol. Roughly one hour of that delay came from the gap between submitting the multisig transaction and collecting the 4 required signatures to execute it. We should learn from this. Emergency pausing should only require a SINGLE signature, with that authority distributed across as many of your team members as possible. Including trusted external operators (like us) also makes sense. You'll get more eyes on any abnormalities onchain, a higher likelihood of a quick pause, and a better coverage of timezones. Teams should also have reliable communication channels to be coordinate instantly during incidents like this. Pagers, phones, whatever works. Tools like @HypernativeLabs, @hexagate_ and others offer proactive monitoring that can pause the protocol for you, and could one day save you.

At 2:21 AM UTC, Resolv’s USR contract experienced an exploit where $50M Resolv USD (USR) was minted for approximately $100,000 USDC. We will share additional updates as the team responds to the active situation and manages liquidity. Most Gauntlet vaults are unaffected. A few high-yield vaults had limited exposure. We are working to monitor liquidity and will continue to share updates.

The Resolv USR exploit wasn't a bug - it was a feature working exactly as designed. And that's the problem. How USR minting works: you deposit USDC, then an off-chain service with a privileged key decides how much USR to mint for you. The contract checks the minimum but has no maximum. No cap. No ratio to collateral. Whatever the key holder says - gets minted. You could deposit $1 and mint billions. This design was live since day one. It wasn't a code bug. The threat model was simply: "the key won't leak." It did. Attacker got the key. Deposited $200K across two txs, minted 80M unbacked USR. Dumped on DEXes, walked away with ~$23M in ETH. Single point of failure: one private key, no on-chain sanity checks. No max mint ratio, no multisig, no timelock. One compromised key = unlimited money printer. The contract worked perfectly. That's the scariest part.

We are currently investigating a security incident involving unauthorized minting of USR. At this stage: The collateral pool remains fully intact. No underlying assets have been lost. The issue appears isolated to USR issuance mechanics. Our immediate priority is to: 1) Contain the incident 2) Assess impact 3) Ensure legitimate users are not affected We are actively investigating and will share more updates shortly.

Hailey Welch speaks on her HAWK coin launch “The day the coin launched I actually had, I think two podcasts that day and the guy that was in the room with us, the one who was like operating the coin we noticed he was like pacing around everywhere, acting nervous” “After we finished all the podcasts everybody went out the room and looked concerned and I’m like what is going on? I don’t understand what’s happened? They said oh nothing don’t worry about it. I pull up my TikTok and the next thing I know there’s all these posts saying I’m going to jail” “After everything got figured out… I took every step you’re supposed to take, I was cooperative with the FBI and SEC. I even sent my phone off for days and had everything searched, the SEC cleared me” “This traumatised me, I wouldn’t come out of the house for like months”

Yes, Reuters' report checks out via their sources & DOJ docs: Feb 2023 foreign hacker hit a vulnerable FBI NY Field Office server in the Child Exploitation Forensic Lab, skimmed Epstein investigation files, left a disgusted note on child abuse images (unaware it was FBI), then got talked down by agents posing as FBI. Christine Maxwell (Ghislaine's twin) co-founded Chiliad 1996; its data-mining tech powered FBI's post-9/11 Investigative Data Warehouse for cross-agency counterterrorism searches (CIA/NSA overlaps). She was board director into 2019. Confirmed via Wikipedia & multiple reports. No evidence ties it to this hack—the warehouse isn't the exploited lab. Epstein docs draw foreign interest for kompromat, per experts.

Foreign hacker....🙄 Christine Maxwell, Ghislaine Maxwell’s twin sister, co-founded Chiliad, a software company whose data-mining technology powered the FBI’s counterterrorism data warehouse. This system enabled large-scale searches across intelligence agencies like the CIA and NSA, raising concerns about access to sensitive surveillance infrastructure despite her family’s ties to intelligence networks.

@griffgreen It definitely did. The Iranian regime has been the root of all evil in the Middle East. Maybe peace will come. But I also see an issue in what signal this operation and now war sends to China/Russia.

@MrJackisch Definitely fair, there is a risk of things going wrong, there is a lot of risk in war. But the future looks more optimistic for the Iranian people today than it did last week.

"We all remember the mistakes of Iraq" Honestly, I'm sick of hearing this. Iran is a VERY different from 2003 Iraq! MILLIONS of Iranians risked their lives to protest this government less than 2 months ago & at least 30,000 were killed (probably closer to 80,000). - This was not the case with Iraq. Iranians have a clear leader with a plan to replace the regime: @PahlaviReza - This was not the case with Iraq. Iranians are celebrating worldwide. - This was not the case with Iraq. I am not a fan of war, but every Iranian I have talked to about this issue (and I know MANY) welcomes this intervention even those in the country. They aren't happy about wanting bombs to fall, but they don't see another way. I hope the US does this right, unlike in Venezuela where we just left the incumbent power structures in place. This was very disappointing for the Venezuelans I know. If we overthrow the regime and help the Iranian people transition power to Reza Pahlavi, over 90 million people will go from sanctioned enemies to welcomed allies. If someone opposes this war, it is because they don't know (or care about) Iranian people.

@mert I think what we need to understand is that if Jane Street will ever own all of the 21M bitcoin, it’s undeniable they will be able to manipulate the price. It’s shocking when you think about it. I think it’s best to sell before that happens.
