The last thing the world needs right now is for X to turn into a right-wing echo chamber, and for platforms like Threads and Bluesky to become echo chambers for liberals. Social media needs more differing political views and more open conversations by opposing sides, not less.

Many users replying to or quoting this deepfake video so readily accepted that it was real because it lines up with their political views, despite the fact it's not even a well-made deepfake. Confirmation bias and partisanship remain two of the main drivers of misinformation.

Could just be me, but it seems to me that realistic AI videos that make random individuals appear as mainstream journalists reporting from a real conflict zone might cause one or two serious issues that require some thought and consideration.
