@MsT31415 Personally I believe that everyone should be taught the full curriculum of what is examinable within their papers. I’m not comfortable leaving anything out

By this I mean top end topics for grade 5 (F) or Grade 8/9 Higher?

Maths people/HoDs. Thoughts on cutting down the curriculum for lower sets. E.g set 6 are aiming for grade 1/2/3 foundation and set 4 are aiming for 4/5 higher. Do you still teach them the topics above their grade or do you dedicate more time to retrieval of accessible topics?

Hello @bphillipsonMP. Thank you so much for everything you’ve already done for teachers. As a retention strategy, have you considered cancelling student debt for teachers after a certain number of years of service? Monthly repayments are huge when you have 2 degrees to pay off.

@KShabby16334956 @__yayyas @adamboxer1 @DanielBundred @warwickmansell Fair enough. I don’t know enough to comment and totally accept there are very specialist cases. Just trying to understand the idea that some people have that students with SEND shouldn’t be disciplined or cannot just misbehave but apologies as I don’t think that was your point

Just heard from mother of a child, with SEND, who has been banned from the end-of-year prom this year because his behaviour has been deemed to "require improvement". His GCSEs are weeks away. Do these policies really help?

@ShakinthatChalk @MathsImpact I think it’s the suggestion that those without children should spend their additional free time working. Everyone has commitments and choices in terms of what they do with their time. Being a parent is part of this choice. We shouldn’t be making special allowances for parents.

@MathsImpact How is it a bad take? If I were not a parent I’d have significantly more time to devote to my job.

60+ Year 11 exams to mark. Years ago I could use my weekend time to sit and get them done. As a parent of a demanding child I no longer have that luxury. Are schools cognisant of staff with younger children and how that impacts on workload? Especially single parent teachers?

If you’re a teacher who is interested in leadership, be a governor. It’s the best CPD and insight into the role you’ll get.

I often question why I stick with teaching but then a good day comes along & it all seems worth it. Today my Y11 Further Maths students left the exam with big smiles on their faces. I asked how it went & they said it was fun. Not sure they say other exams are fun! 😀🎢☀️#mathsftw

The teacher retention problem? Experienced teachers should be an asset. But somewhere along the way, the semantics changed. Experienced teachers instead became commonly referred to as "UPS" teachers. The focus shifted from the value of experience to the cost of experience.

Anyone teach Edexcel FP2? Group Theory, page 65 and 66. Am I being stupid or is their table completely wrong? The group is under multipication. For example pq x p = p^2q = q I don't agree....

@MrSBarton94 I take it you're not fully enjoying FM1 😂. To quote you, "anything other than pure doesn't do it for me".
