Looks like Torbay is a good unit to have a fundoplication in terms of symptoms resolution that is effective over the years!!

@DaveRobinson90 @RCSnews Hmmm.. probably a step too far, however thinking strategically, there is not enough specialist surgery required to train every surgeon to consultant level in their specialty. Technique advancements mean probably even less call for this in future.

Great to see @RCSnews making a clear statement regarding SCP scope of practice & condoning the actions of Walsall Healthcare Trust. I was critical of RCSEng guidance for being too vague but this was the clear message that was needed 👏🏻 SCPs should NOT be performing lap choles!

NHSR now has the functionality to record patients that you wish to enter into the GOLF study. It will be an option for Anti-Reflux Procedures, it will allow QoL data about your patients to be recorded beyond the closure of GOLF after 2 years

If you decided on surgery would you want to see your surgeons QoL outcome data after Heller Myotomy for previous patients they have treated

Would you want your surgeon to pass your case through a benign hiatal MDT

There was no difference in recurrence rates at 1 year between mesh and non-mesh repairs (15% vs 24%, P = .12) This dataset has got to be called into question. A 25% recurrence rare for a 2 cm hernia repaired WITH MESH?!?! What is happening here.

How many units in the U.K. run a regular benign Upper GI MDT? What is the criteria for discussing a patient? Are there blanket policies (eg all hiatal cases) or is it case by case due to particular concerns? @bbugssuk @Augishealth @roux_group @AugisEdi

NHSR is now supporting the GOLF Trial so data can be collected after the trials conclusion at 2 years. If you are enrolling patients with GOLF there will be an option to highlight these patients when entering them into your account portfolio.
