This is our level of ambition for Hackney, delivered all at a time when pools are shutting across the UK & austerity, cost of living crisis & inflation make it much harder to do.
When finished there will be at least five more pools or equivalent spaces for the people of Hackney.

If all goes to plan by 2026, @HackneyLabour in the 10yrs since I've been Mayor, will have:
🤽♀️built new Britannia
🏊♂️refurbished London Fields Lido & built a new learner pool
🌊expanded provision at West Reservoir inc. beginners area
🏊♀️started to fully restore & expand King's Hall

Love a restored pool hall, in the next couple of years we plan to do the same at Hackney's Kings Hall, only it will be even better not just restoring the whole building, but expanding the level of facilities & amount of water.

They do incredible work for young people and we're really happy to be close to their new community cafe in #Hackney

Earlier, after #LunarNewYear at @hackney_bridge had to pop back to @BaduSports and get a coffee at their new cafe. Always impressed to find @Mr_Badu behind the counter & a few familiar faces having coffee.

& a packed diary tonight means I'm not there for official 'official' opening, but they let me join @Mr_Badu to cut a ribbon anyway. The cafe co-produced with local people is an exciting new space, that yes will sell coffee, but much more importantly will be a shared space for all
