I used to raise zebus. They are the only naturally small cattle in existence. They are Bovis Indicus , and not really related to the newly developed market cattle. The zebu are a very ancient breed.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

@AmberLakeFarm I have ~70 chickens. 2 coops & a bunch of ferals that roost in the goat pens. ~12 roos. If the males have their own harem there's little fighting. My roos work in pairs protecting hens while free ranging. There's no hard fast rule for all.

Question to chicken people: I have four flocks, all separated at the moment. I would like to let them free range together during the day. Conor, has nine ladies. Griffyn has ten ladies. Mike has six ladies. Gregory (relatively new to the property) has only two ladies. By end of summer, they all should have 15 hens. Is this possible to let them free range without bloodshed? Without duels to the death?

@PeggiBosquez Ditto. I call it my retirement plan. Started in my 50s, still telecommute for work. Building the foundations for grandkids. Been in undated w cucumbers (never again!!) and learned goats & cheese making from scratch. Never too old to begin something new.

You really can just do things. I started farming in my 50s. My hubby does have an outside job. I get to be a mom full time. I get to supply my community with humanly raised, healthy food. It doesn't have to be a huge fancy farm.. just enough. Win win!!

@kapease @OldHollowTree High vitamin C and D. Teach them to drink chaga tea. I used to hate having the petri dishes visit until my daughter finally listened to me about upping the vitamins. Now all of us are rarely sick.

@OldHollowTree When grandkids came to live with me, I was concerned over the disruption to work life with sick kids. We took a good vitamin C and zinc every day. They were rarely sick.

The only thing I wasn’t really prepared for with being a father was how frequently EVERYONE is sick. This is almost entirely because of having a child in school but dang. I’m tired.

Here is my vanilla conspiracy. Big vanilla! They started making artificial crap and now it is in every recipe. Vanilla ice cream home made, yes! Vanilla in cookies also yes, maybe, but a lot of recipe it disappears. Homemade vanilla and use it only if you can taste it.

Good morning. I thought my hubby loved me... but he turned the heater up to 72°. 🤣 🤣 I could have died. JK. Milk is on ice. Farm check is done. I had a very serious talk with Gloria this morning and explained that today would be the perfect time to release the hostage, it will be nice and cool. We shall see if she listens.
