@AQAEnglish This is unacceptable. @ofqual made it clear only Shakespeare is compulsory. What if students have already studied the pre & post 19th options, but not Shakespeare & Poetry. They’d now be at a huge disadvantage. Schools need to decide what is best for their students not AQA.

@MrHVijayan @AQAEnglish That is exactly the situation I am in. Arbitrary is completely the word to use for it. These students are now at a huge disadvantage. @AQA need to rethink this ASAP.

We can only hope @AQAEnglish listen to the teachers and reinstate a fair system which allows all students the chance to succeed. Centres need to decide for themselves which options students will benefit from studying, based on what has already been taught in Y10.

@Soarpoints @madelaineacooke Oxbridge is offering tutorials/supervisions (which makes up the bulk of their teaching and is a unique teaching style at UK universities) in person.

@SkyNews @joncraig The problem is, at the moment you can only appeal if you think a mistake was made with the input of data (ie a clerical error). You can’t appeal if you don’t like your grade or feel it wasn’t fair. Until that appeal IS allowed there’s no point saying govt will pay for appeals. 🤷‍♀️

BREAKING: Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has pledged that the government will cover the cost of all appeals against downgraded results. Chief political correspondent @joncraig says it's a "major climbdown". More on this breaking story: trib.al/ptFab6k

@AlisonMPeacock @CharteredColl Thank you for speaking out Alison. However at the moment there is no appeals process if students are unhappy with the grades and think they’re unfair. Please call on the government to create an appeals process, and quickly.

Also, have I missed an announcement from AQA about Speaking and Listening endorsements for entries for 2021? Are they still going ahead?
