We’ve come a long way since our first day in Eagle Grove. As I close out this chapter and prepare for a new one, I just wanted to say thank you to all the Eagles that treated me and my family so well over the last three years.

These fine educators are representing Eagle Grove Elementary at the PLC at Work Institute! We’re building the PLC culture - believing all students (and teachers) can learn because of what we do. #atPLC

New teachers need the entire school community to embrace them. If they don’t have a sense of belonging early on, the chances of them staying in the profession begin to decrease. Check on them. Encourage them. Validate them. Help them learn from failure. Celebrate success.

Principals with novice teachers in your building: Remember to check on them regularly. Go to them. They know you’re so busy, and they may worry that their problems and struggles are not big enough to bother you with. Visit often to observe, but also to check in. #JoyfulLeaders
