Incoming rage post. May delete later. Could use advice from fellow girl dads. My wife homeschools. She does a great job. My girls do extra curricular activities like jiu-jitsu and other fun stuff. Yesterday we dropped my 5 year old daughter off at some summer day camp thing for children. She's going for a few hours every day this week. She came home telling us she had a wonderful time except for one part. Some boy kept following her around, being mean to her, and TOUCHING her butt. She told me she told him to stop and move away from him but he grabbed her and pulled her back and continued to touch her against her will. She told me she could point the boy out and described him as a little boy her size with brown skin. Now I get to deal with the nightmare of many California parents. Some shit culture that doesn't respect women has invaded the area I reside in and has now affected my daughters life. This is how I've chosen to handle it today. In about 2 hours I'm dropping her off again. We will be informing the adult staff about yesterday's incident. I told my daughter that telling the adults PROBABLY won't fix the situation. I know the kind of adults that pervades California. Weak ineffectual pathetic bottom feeders who are more concerned about social correctness than my daughters safety. I told my daughter if that boy touches her again today after we've let the adults know that she has my permission and every right to break that little boy's arm. Keylock, kimura, arm bar. Her choice. This seemed to calm all her little fears. Shes trained for this. I'm raising my daughters to fix their own problems, not be victims. If this is the first arm she collects, so be it.

Women in the family are your responsibility to protect. Your daughters should not have to resort to violence. Right now the terms are even. When she grows up with this mindset - it will cause problems as when testosterone kicks in for the boys - she will be no match - no matter how much she trains. My suggestion - deal with this like an adult - talk to the adult supervisors and if they refuse to acknowledge or take action - there are other camps. You’re setting an example for your kids - violence should be the absolute last resort

As someone who grew up in the Muslim world, I’ve seen this pattern repeat itself: When Muslims are weak and in the minority, they speak endlessly about tolerance, coexistence, and peace. When they become strong and gain power, that tolerance completely disappears, even toward their own people. This isn’t an opinion. To the individual who reported my vehicle while it was parked in a disabled parking space at Target, I am genuinely trying to understand the reason for such an immediate response.I was away from the vehicle for only a few minutes. I went inside briefly to pick up an item and returned almost immediately, only to find that my car was already being loaded onto a tow truck.What is most frustrating is how quickly the situation escalated. I was not parked there for an extended period, nor was I occupying the space for any significant length of time. It was a very brief stop, yet that was apparently enough for someone to report it. As a result, I am now dealing with towing fees, the inconvenience of recovering my vehicle, and a great deal of unnecessary stress over something that seems to have been handled far more aggressively than the circumstances is difficult not to feel that the response was excessive given how brief the situation actually was.

I inherited a 4ct diamond ring from my grandma and I already know people are going to have very strong opinions about this… because I don’t love the setting. The diamond itself? Unreal. Gorgeous. Absolutely the star of the show. But the setting feels very “another era” to me, and I cannot decide if changing it would be smart… or borderline heirloom criminal behavior. This is where jewelry people always split into two camps. One side says, “It was your grandma’s, keep it exactly as it is, that’s the history.” The other side says, “Why let a massive beautiful diamond sit in a setting you don’t even like just because guilt is louder than taste?” And honestly… I see both arguments. Because sentiment matters, but so does actually wanting to wear the ring. Let’s also be honest for a second: people romanticize heirlooms until the heirloom has a setting that looks dated, bulky, or just not you. Then suddenly you’re expected to choose between honoring the past and having personal style. That’s such an unfair trap. If this were a random estate ring, everybody would be screaming “reset it.” But the second the word grandma gets attached, people act like even thinking about changing it is a felony. My personal problem is that I don’t want this ring to become one of those “too sentimental to touch, too wrong to wear” pieces that just sits in a box for the next 20 years. A 4ct diamond is way too stunning for that. At the same time, once you change an original heirloom setting, you can’t un-change it. That version of the ring is gone forever. So tell me the truth: would you reset the diamond into something more modern that you’d actually wear and love… or keep the original setting because that’s part of your grandma’s story? Is changing an inherited ring practical… or kind of heartless?
