@DeeVijayan @Just_Maths @themathsbazaar @wright_maths We always do 1sf, for weaker groups we look at rounding to numbers that make the calculation easier and tend to test it with division so they are working with numbers that can be divided

#mathsteachers when teaching estimation, do u teach Ss to round to 1sf?or round to nearest whole number in KS3 and then move to 1sf in Ks 4? Which scores marks in GCsE? What word is used -estimate or approximate or both? #mathscpd @Just_Maths @themathsbazaar @wright_maths

Students usually pay for the remark themselves so it helps if I can recommend one paper to send off rather than paying for both. I don't fully mark, I check where I think there may be errors. There have only ever been a couple of papers

Remarking #GCSE- does anyone get scripts and mark them first before sending them off for remarking? I have been asked to remark scripts before sending them off. Finding it really cumbersome to remark . Anyone else like me? @mrsknoxmaths @wright_maths @Just_Maths @mathsjem

Sadly, it was mainly used because it was easy to make things sound good for the department rather than its impact on students and staff

@DeeVijayan @WhiteRoseMaths @mrsknoxmaths @MrMorleyMaths @wright_maths I've looked at a few mastery curriculum overviews and created my own which works for the team, our school and our exam board. It's been put together with influence from everyone. Now we are moving to bring together resources for a more common approach. Being tackled in stages

@DeeVijayan @WhiteRoseMaths @mrsknoxmaths @MrMorleyMaths @wright_maths The timings didn't fit with our school sadly (4x50min lessons) and team weren't confident to adapt lesson resources for what we needed to fit in the our time frame. We also currently use WJEC exam board so content varies a little.

@DeeVijayan @WhiteRoseMaths @mrsknoxmaths @MrMorleyMaths @wright_maths I use MathsWatch at my school. I would prefer Sparx having used that too, but not sure I will get the budget for it! We have good feedback from students, can provide codes for topics which helps with revision purposes and students can ask you questions. It's a nice alternative

@RJS2212 @wright_maths This is exactly how I do it. After Vlookup for get the grades along with if statements to check the tier first.

@wright_maths You can have a column that does current - previous. Then colour code -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3 as necessary.

Conditional formatting help - if I want to compare a grade with previous mock grade and colour for equal, below, 1 grade above, 2 grades etc above how would I do it?
