A move to Year 2 for me and an enhancement to support the children when learning to tell the time (saw the idea on twitter). Children will take turns to wear the watch. Other times will be added as we move through the year #year2 #edutwitter #tellingthetime #year2maths

@MrsS_EYFS I read some comments in your thread and understood differently. Team effort is nice to read and you seem to be excited by the prospect of teaching your children this way and see how they ll learn. I hope it goes well 💜⏰🔔

@MrsS_EYFS One thing I did was to do lots of talk about the day, months etc. The date is… today is.. tomorrow is.. etc The month is… it is the fifth month of the year. It really helps them to develop a sense of time. There was actually a SATs question on this too

@FifiDeLyonBliss This will be a team effort. No child will actually be given sole responsibility for keeping track of the time. This is simply a strategy to support children with recognition of time through repetition and peer support. My Year 2 class are a team - we work together 😊

@MrsS_EYFS imagine the public shaming the poor child who forgets to check and makes everyone 10 minutes late for lunch will get 😂

At the end of every Friday last year, me and my class would do a 'What Went Well?' Each one of us would write down 3 things that we feel went well this week, and read them out to the class. It was such an uplifting way to end the week! Credit to @AdrianBethune. #wellbeing #ect

@WhistleblowingT Does you school have a pastoral/SMHL? Talk your concerns over with them. Although you shouldn’t have to, alerting others to the fact that you feel this way might be all it needs for others to understand and rectify this.

@teachwith_missT @MrTs_NQTs All of the above - Envelopes too! Lots of post-it notes, note pads, different pencils and pens and different sized envelopes. I’ve found the children always love writing notes and putting them in envelopes. Cards are a good one too. Save old cards to put in the provision

EYFS friends, how do you encourage writing in continuous provision? Any useful resources you’ve found that encourage the children to practice mark making? First year ECT looking for inspiration x @MrTs_NQTs
