I’ve resisted calling Trump and MAGA fascist, mainly because I’ve understood fascism and Nazism as almost incomprehensibly evil. But the reality is MAGA is today, who the Nazi were before they seized power. There is no better historical comparison to MAGA than the Nazi of the early 1930s.

Let's face it, organized religion IS the world's greatest cult. Though many of the life messages underlying religious tenets can be positive and even noble, the power and money filtering through its organized implementation, corrupt it entirely. The primary key to that corruption that binds the audience is the concept and broad human adoption of faith. It normalizes the paranormal as a play on people's insecurity. Organized religion asks them to believe things they cannot see nor feel, presents evidence that could never survive in a courtroom, then asks them to prioritize that belief OVER reasoned fact, and then asks them to make that belief the anchor of their persona. The cherry on top is then promising the ultimate myth - eternal paradise or damnation - as the afterlife end game. The parallels between organized religion and Trumpism are many. Except -- in Trumpism, the underlying tenets are not noble, the faith is to a disordered criminal idiot that anyone CAN see plain as day, and the end game is not a myth, it's a skewed reality that works for very few. The enticement is little more than dopamine rushes. Trumpism is stupider.
