In case you haven't watched our Marley-Palooza video yet, CCPS Superintendent, Dr. Ricciardelli stopped by! 🤩 I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Ricciardelli for a little & she told me how much she loves my work & that she was a huge fan of the "Cheeto to Hot Cheeto" bit from our Rating Our First Day video. 💛 After our conversation, I just had to get my camera out and ask her the infamous question to which she responded with "Extra Hot Cheeto!" 🥵 Dr. Ricciardelli's first experience stepping into Marley's World was certified HOT! 🔥 📽️ Watch the full video on my profile! @ManateeCCPS @collierschools #CCPSProud

The Manatee Elementary mascot is a manatee they’ve named “Marley.” @MrLaraMES and @MsPapworthMES guide student leaders who produce “Marley’s World” school news each morning. Recorded at 7:50am and ready minutes later for playback in each classroom. @ChadCCPS saw firsthand today “Marley’s World” is must-see TV @ManateeCCPS! 👏

During our Fundations “make it fun” students synergized at their tables to spell out closed syllables exceptions. When finished students colored their lottery number. @MsAPalacios spun the wheel to pick a table group winner! 🥇 Fun way to practice skills learned! @ManateeCCPS

What a beautiful day at Manatee Elementary as we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. 💛 ⭐️ Every early release day, we take time to Sharpen our Saws. What does a school-news that's completely student-led look like? Let's take a look! 🎥 At @ManateeCCPS, we have our leadership roles in full effect. The News Crew is one of those many roles that we give our students an opportunity to be a part of. One of the many amazing things of being a @TheLeaderinMe school. ❤️💚💙 @MsPapworthMES heads the news, with me being a small help in it, and together we overcame a NUMEROUS amount of technical issues by switching to a recorded school news! This opened up so many job opportunities in our News Crew, because what once was originally 2 jobs, became 4 in what we call our back row - the technical part of the news. A total of 9, if you include our Anchors & Student Manager. It doesn't just stop there. Ms. Papworth's role is to head & oversee the entire news & provide all the important school information for our student anchors to share. My role is to provide all visual graphics, as well as tech support just in case there are any technical issues, & upload our school news. Other than that, everything you see during the broadcast is COMPLETELY done by students. 💪🏻 We have trained students on just about everything in the room, but there are always times where a student might get to a station or be assigned to do something that they haven't done before. Our News Crew students help train one another to make sure the jobs get done! Example: During the real take, one of our News Crew Veterans, Pherline, assists Micadia in her role as Audio Tech. 💛 We recently rebranded our entire news room to be under the sea & have it look more cartoony and kid-friendly. Everything is hand-drawn by me! We also added some background music to make it sound more lively & fun. The students & staff have loved all of it so far! 😊 Listen to the students as they explain what their role is here at MES TV, and get a look behind the scenes of them in action while recording the real take. We are so proud of them.
