@JazineG Also in a few cases it's a way to train new hires. The remake of The Last of Us 1 is an example of this, they got an easy buck while training new employees at the same time.

I think it's because it's just easier to remake a game from a decade ago. With older games, especially if you're converting a 2d game into 3d, you have to do a lot of reimagining. The models, the landscape, the gameplay and more has to all be drastically modernize. It's a risk.
