Looking for any pointers on @histassoc articles which specifically focus on teaching students explicit vocab around the concepts to improve their writing.

@kate_smee We're currently on our second year teaching thematically. Still trying to iron out some of the problems with sense of period, but it's had a huge impact on our essays and comparison questions.

@MsTeeTeaches If you email Aqa they will send you the sources. A bit of a faff and they take a few days to reply but at least you can then can get them.

Does anyone have any examples of Question 2 for Conflict and Tension: The First World War? I'm struggling to find sources to practice with because a lot of the #AQA past papers have copyright issues. Thanks! #historyteacher

@Alex_Henderson1 Absolutely, the q3 are the ones mine are struggling with most. Loads of 0s this time round, even though they've attempted the question.

@MsTeeTeaches I still get a few every set of mocks. It's the q3 that's the challenge for me. Be interested to see what others do.

AQA-ers! How do you teach the three paper one interpretation questions? I thought I'd finally cracked it, but year 10 mocks suggest otherwise... #HistoryTeacher

@MsTeeTeaches Really boring answer but... explicitly. Will do loads of q practice and questioning around what to include/ what not to partic for q2 + 3. Model using visualiser and verbalise thought process for q3. Teach synonyms for convincing in this context. Hope makes sense..

Obviously I'd never want to go back to Teams teaching full time, but there is something to be said for getting out of bed at 8:00 and commuting to the dining table #StormEunice
