@MissLwbt @_MAETL It is a late big ask of administrators & school leaders on top of regular back to school planning. I feel that there’s an assumption that work will not need to be done ahead of time to prepare for it. I hope I am wrong.

Been sitting with this for a bit. Like many, I have questions based on the wording of this information. However, I'm thrilled that @_MAETL is working to help with the development of an FAQ to provide clarification ahead of the start of classes.

@PublicEdMB I wish governments, educators and parents would go after big tech to make changes at the source.

@PublicEdMB It really is disappointing. There’s such opportunity to harness the power of these tools & use them to support deep learning. It’s the apps- social media & gaming- openly available to minors that are at issue.

It is worth asking if the province will provide funding for schools who have relied on students to bring their own devices up to this point. We would also like to see the province develop resources to help students learn to use technology in a healthy and responsible way.

You know what would be super helpful from gov? A comprehensive campaign on device and digital media literacy for caregivers to support how they introduce devices & digital programs to their kids Couple this with a robust Literacy with ICT curriculum & support for educators

@MissLwbt Thank you for asking these questions. For years I taught Digital Citizenship & Ss were very receptive. Then with new admin, my school moved to limiting cell phones. Those original Ss are now adults. I’d love to know their thoughts on the effectiveness of the teaching approach.

Conversation about screen-time & an understanding of balance is important for all ages But absolutes can limit opportunities A defined list from DSFM would be helpful. Is this just personal screens? Do teacher projectors count? Could I do no tech & then 2 hours the next day?

Rocket Robin Hood (1966 - 1969) An updated version of Robin Hood set in space in the year 3000, it starred some of the best voice acting talent in Canada at the time. Some of the animation from the show was recycled to use in the animated Spider-Man.
