Independent reading during school time (e.g., DEAR) has not had strong research support. New meta-analysis of 47 quasi-exp studies shows modest effects for reading motivation and word recognition, and no effect for comprehension. Article is open-access. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

@NewhamLondon lots of inconvenience caused for residents, some who needed parking near residence, by this planned parking suspension in order for "tree works" which did not happen in any of the 3 day! Wardens had a field day with tickets and not a leaf moved. Do better!
