A woman's prime is in her early twenties. Presumably in that time, she rejected approaches from men of higher status in favor of the lower status guy she loves. A guy's prime on the other hand is his mid 30s. So by the time the guy gains status, she's lost hers. She thus expects the man to pay her in like manner by sticking with her the same way she stuck with him in her prime. This of course doesn't always happen and leads to angst. The simple way out of this is for young women in their prime to date the highest status person they have access to and get him to commit.
