Gutting news for Bosun Lawal. Mark Robins has said that Lawal is set to be out for around six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury against Charlton, which now looks likely to rule him out of Ireland’s World Cup playoff in March. It’s not fully confirmed yet, but it’s a big blow as he looked to have a real chance of making his senior debut. Get well soon, Bosun💚

It looks like Andrew Moran is set to join Preston North End on loan for the remainder of the season. According to Pete O’Rourke, Moran is in advanced talks with PNE over a loan move, which would see him return to the Championship after a short spell in MLS with Los Angeles FC. Earlier in the season, there was a feeling he might move to the continent, but this will be the first time in his career he joins a Championship side genuinely competing for the play-offs - something that could help bring out the very best of Andy Moran again. During his time at Blackburn and Stoke, Moran was involved in relegation battles and, when he did play, was often used out wide - a role that never really suited his strengths. Preston, however, operate in a system very similar to Ireland’s, using two number 10s, which could be the perfect platform for an unbelievably talented prospect to finally flourish at this level.

John Egan could be on the move before Monday’s deadline! 🇮🇪 Alex Crook has reported that Ipswich Town and West Ham United are interested in John Egan - Hull City gaffer Sergej Jakirovic has now addressed the situation. “If you ask me, I would like John to stay with us. If somebody asked at the beginning of the season whether John Egan would play a big number of games, I don’t think he would have believed that, but he’s a very important member of this squad. John’s truly a leader with a lot of experience, and it’s no surprise to me that he has offers. We will see. If a player decides to go, you must respect that. I cannot stop anybody if he chooses to go, but I will fight to make sure he stays with us.”
