A moment of true significance for @housingfinanceU
To receive international recognition in Karlsruhe under the Sustainability Standards Certification Initiative (SSCI) is affirming. This certification by the European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD) places our work firmly within the global conversation on sustainable and inclusive finance.
What makes this milestone especially meaningful is what it stands for beyond the accolade itself. It is recognition of a deliberate, purpose-driven approach to banking one that prioritizes people, communities, and long-term impact.
From financing affordable home ownership through solutions like Zimba Mpola Mpola, to supporting SMEs, green enterprises, and social infrastructure, every intervention shows our commitment to inclusive growth and responsible capital deployment. Sustainability is not an add-on for us; it is embedded in how we serve , govern, and grow.
Congratulations to our Board of Directors, Management, and Staff for their shared belief in doing business the right way. This recognition is a collective achievement and I appreciate our staff that made it happen.
At Housing Finance Bank, we continue to serve with purpose and deliver impact.

Attending the Gumzo La ADR Conference at Mestil Hotel & Residences was a powerful reminder of how central trust and transparency are in business.
Disputes are inevitable, but they do not have to escalate. Misunderstandings around loan obligations, contract terms, or delayed settlements can be addressed early when communication is clear and engagement is proactive.
Alternative Dispute Resolution is more than a mechanism for resolving disagreements. It strengthens customer confidence, reinforces relationships, and safeguards the integrity of the financial system.
It was inspiring to be at the conference, joining incredible leaders and peers committed to shaping a stronger financial ecosystem.
Conversations like these are essential to building a trusted and resilient financial system across Africa.

It was a privilege to meet the farmers, traders, SMEs, families, and young innovators of Masaka during the launch of our new branch. Your energy and drive are at the heart of why Housing Finance Bank continues to grow and deepen its impact across Uganda.
The Masaka Branch strengthens our support for regional economic growth, enterprise, and homeownership. From tailored SME and agribusiness solutions to digital banking tools and pathways to sustainable homeownership, we are focused on enabling lasting progress.
It was an honour to have Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo (@HonKyeyune) with us, highlighting the importance of financial inclusion in driving regional development. I also extend my gratitude to the local leaders of the Masaka corridor and our Board Chair, Josephine N. Mukumbya, whose vision continues to inspire initiatives that empower communities.
We further handed over 300 tree seedlings to the people of Masaka, reflecting our dedication to nurturing both the environment and the future of the communities we serve.
With the opening of this branch, Housing Finance Bank now serves 21 communities nationwide, bringing inclusive and impactful financial services closer to every Ugandan. Together, we will continue building a stronger, more resilient future for Masaka and for Uganda.

As Chairperson of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS), I reflect on a defining moment for our industry.
Under the theme “#BeyondtheFinishLine,” we hosted the inaugural Annual Bankers’ Awards marking a milestone for Uganda’s financial sector.
For the first time, the Banking industry came together to celebrate outstanding performance, professionalism, and transformative leadership across 14 professional categories. With 57 high-quality submissions, this first edition exceeded expectations and affirmed our collective commitment to raising industry standards, inspiring innovation, and strengthening public trust.
The event also featured the celebration of the winners of the 2025 Bankers’ Sports Gala, further highlighting the spirit of teamwork and excellence that defines our sector.
I was also humbled to receive recognition as an Honorary Fellow of the Institute. I accept this honour with gratitude, mindful that our progress both at Housing Finance Bank and across the sector has been a collective effort driven by many dedicated professionals.
I remain committed to serving the industry and supporting initiatives that promote meaningful impact, inclusion, and responsible growth.

It was an honor to engage with policymakers, developers, financiers, builders, suppliers, innovators, and citizens at the 7th Edition of the #NBSHousingBaraza 2025.
Unlocking Uganda’s housing future goes far beyond meeting numerical targets. It is about shaping inclusive, well-planned, and sustainable communities where every Ugandan can live with dignity.
Uganda’s housing deficit now at 2.4 million units presents a significant challenge, but it is also an opportunity. With stronger alignment between government and the private sector, and with enabling reforms such as the Valuation Bill and the Mortgage Refinance Bill, we can accelerate affordable homeownership.
At Housing Finance Bank, our commitment remains firm: from home purchase and incremental construction loans to green financing and land solutions, we continue to make homeownership more accessible for every Ugandan.
I extend my appreciation to the Guest of Honor, Rt. Hon. @JustineLumumba, Minister of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, for her thoughtful insights on the need to balance housing provision across all social classes through appropriate taxation and policy measures. Her acknowledgement of our Zimba Mpola Mpola solution as a practical tool for closing Uganda’s housing gap and promoting sustainable homeownership is truly encouraging.
Together, let’s continue building a future where every Ugandan has a dignified place to call home.

This week, I had the honour of inaugurating Housing Finance Bank Soroti Branch, bringing our services closer to the people of the Teso sub-region. This expansion is another step to make financial solutions more accessible to households, entrepreneurs, farmers, and businesses across Uganda.
At this new branch, we will deliver affordable housing finance, SME and agribusiness lending, digital banking services, and green financing for renewable energy and water projects.
I am proud that we continue to align our work with Uganda’s development agenda. In 2024 alone, we supported over 65 green SMEs, more than 1,400 women- and youth-led businesses, and reached 3.5 million Ugandans through our digital platforms. Our presence in Soroti strengthens our contribution to inclusive growth and long-term economic transformation.
I am also pleased that we serve as a partner for the Small Business Recovery Fund, enabling SMEs in this region to access affordable financing to rebuild, expand, or stabilize their operations.
I appreciate the warm welcome from the local leadership and the recognition of this branch’s potential to support agriculture, trade, enterprise development, and household prosperity. I am especially grateful to the Vice President, Hon. @jessica_alupo, for joining us and reinforcing the importance of financial inclusion in driving national progress.
To the people of the Teso sub-region, this branch is dedicated to you. We look forward to partnering with you to unlock new opportunities and support your ambitions.

A significant day for @housingfinanceU and the Nansana community.
This week, we officially launched our new branch in Nansana, an important step in our ongoing effort to bring convenient and inclusive banking services closer to the people and businesses we serve. This expansion illustrates our commitment to breaking down barriers to financial access and supporting growth in one of the fastest-developing areas in the country.
As part of this launch , we later joined the community of Kazo Church of Uganda Nursery and Primary School for a tree-planting activity under our Tiny Forest initiative. Together with the learners, teachers, parents, and our partners from Greening Africa (@greeningaf), we planted 300 trees, contributing to our ambition of planting 1 million trees by 2027.
Our work in Nansana is intentional. It brings together financial inclusion, environmental stewardship, and community partnership, the three pillars that define the future we are building. We are proud to stand alongside the people of Nansana as we grow opportunity, resilience, and shared prosperity.

What a fulfilling day at the #NSSFRun2025! Together with our Board Chairperson Josephine N. Mukumbya, Directors Beatrice Ngozi Mulindwa and Frank Katusiime, and the vibrant Team @housingfinanceU, we took to the hills to make every step count toward empowering Uganda’s learners.
With over 10,000 runners and UGX 1.5 billion raised, the energy, unity, and generosity were truly inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you to all the runners and partners including @mtnug , @nssfug, and @nextmediaug for turning up in large numbers to give and make a difference.
Let us continue to run, not just up the hills of Kololo or through the streets of Kampala, but towards the growth and transformation of our nation, mindful of the youth and our shared responsibility to empower them.
At Housing Finance Bank, we celebrate your spirit and willingness to touch lives and make a lasting difference.

Today, as the world commemorates World Savings Day, I had the honour of witnessing the endorsement of the 6th Season of #BAFSAC25 by Mr. Andrew Philip Wabulya, Executive Director – Risk & Strategy at the Bank of Uganda, representing the Governor.
This season’s theme, “Financial Health: From Earnings to Sustainability,” together with the campaign dubbed “Planned Adult,” speaks powerfully to the heart of what this day represents the call to build a culture of saving, planning, and responsible financial stewardship.
World Savings Day reminds us that prosperity is not just about earning more, but about managing wisely, saving consistently, and investing intentionally. Financial wellness begins with small, deliberate choices that compound into long-term security both for individuals and the nation at large.
Through #BAFSAC25, we continue to champion a financially literate and resilient Uganda ; one where every person, from youth to adult, is empowered to make informed financial decisions that drive sustainable growth for their families, businesses, and communities.

Participating in the Global Sustainable Finance Conference was a moment of recalibration in HFB’s journey towards Sustainable Finance Certification.
Engaging with global leaders and exploring bold, transformative ideas reaffirmed the importance of embedding ESG principles into the heart of our business strategy.
One key leadership insight I took away: Sustainability must be woven into every decision, every product, and every partnership. Thats how real, and lasting impact is created.
This experience has accelerated our certification journey and we continue to lead with purpose, drive with impact, and build a more equitable financial future.

Today, I witnessed the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding between Housing Finance Bank and Pearl Marina Estates. This moment goes far beyond a formal agreement; it represents the real impact we can have on people’s lives with sustainable solutions .
Through this partnership, we are not just financing homes; we are closing the housing gap in Uganda by making homeownership more accessible to families who once thought it was out of reach. It is about providing stability for families, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for Ugandans to build a better future.
At @housingfinanceU, our purpose has always been to provide sustainable financing that supports long-term growth and prosperity. By combining our financial expertise with Pearl Marina Estates’ visionary approach to real estate, we are laying a foundation for lasting impact; empowering people, transforming spaces, and shaping a better future for generations to come.
I appreciate the leadership at Pearl Marina Estates for walking this journey with us. The work ahead is exciting, and I look forward to the tangible difference we will make together.
