@rogerlwhite It’s well known that IRISH GDP figures are distorted by the big businesses registering there to take advantage of the low tax rates. I find it amusing that Nats attempt to construct an economic case for Indy. Utterly deluded.

@WiltsAnnabelle @Conservatives @KemiBadenoch Opposed suffrage, dragged their feet on equality reforms, limited focus on structural gender inequality, austerity policies hit women hardest. But have women covered on the vanishingly unlikely event of meeting a trans woman in a loo.

Oh, come on, Starmer would have just batted it away as an ongoing Police investigation. No, it was better to paint him into a corner as to who exactly is in charge in his party. She succeeded and embarrassed him in front of his backbenchers I'll concede one point. She might have asked him something like, "You've had a week to think about it, so can you now tell us whether you actually spoke to Mandelson before you appointed him as Ambassador?" If he refused to answer again, he would've looked (even more) ridiculous

Why didn’t @KemiBadenoch press the Prime Minister on the highly unbelievable story of McSweeney’s ‘phone theft’ and the messages being ‘unretrievable’? ANOTHER OPEN GOAL MISSED 🤦🏻‍♂️

@LeeHarris I don't see it that way at all. Kemi manoeuvred him into a corner and made him admit he's not really in charge I'm surprised that you didn't realise that she deliberately undermined him, not just in front of the country but, critically, in front of his front- and backbenchers

Hold on... Keir Starmer is on the ropes about Mandelson and Kemi uses *all of her questions* at PMQs about the North Sea? Don't get me wrong, I know the vote was yesterday, Net Zero is ludicrous and we need to drill, but that was a MASSIVE missed opportunity. FFS.

@scattysmum @BarristersHorse @bunny_lingus I agree. Her questions weren't really about energy security or O&G licencing. No, her questions were designed to paint him into a corner regarding just exactly who is in charge. In that sense it worked Spluttering Starmer can't think on his feet and she made him look feeble.

A Prime Minister clinging on for dear life, whilst the leader of the opposition talks about anything other than what's prescient. If you haven't got the bottle to go for the jugular, to capitalise on a hot topic, make way for someone who has. Abysmal performances by both.

Pmqs Badenoch wants to talk about the lack of drilling in the North Sea. Starmer can change the law to take the power away from Ed Miliband, he won’t. Starmer keeps taking the topic back to the Iran war. Miliband has Starmer by the short and curlies.

🧵 THREAD: My message to the EU ahead of next week’s UK–EU summit: we will tear up any backroom deal that doesn’t work in our national interest or betrays Brexit. Here’s where the Conservative Party stands—and what we won’t accept from Labour’s dealings with Brussels👇 telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/…

Why did the backwards rump of @theSNP politicians sitting in Westminster refuse to vote to start drilling in the North Sea again during an energy crisis? They would rather we all suffered with high petrol prices so they can then play the grievance card. They are despicable.

I’m guessing it still hurts - losing to the Greens. Whatever possessed you to go for that seat. Having pledged your undying love for the constituency - how many times have you returned and what are you doing for the local area now? Not everyone brought your conversion from a liberal analyst of the far-right to an outspoken "anti-woke" nationalist. I suspect it’s all about personal ambition. Don’t be too hard on Tim, I suspect you are more alike than you care to admit.

What Reform should do is stop taking Tory Wets like you. I've responded to my critics here (x.com/GoodwinMJ/stat…). All you do is criticise Reform & our campaigns. I have no idea why you are even in Reform unless it is to try and weaken it?
Tim Montgomerie 🇬🇧@montie

The whole controversy over @GoodwinMJ's book reminds me of the early warning sign that Rachel Reeves' dodgy footnotes provided about her. @reformparty_uk should now fully investigate Mr Goodwin's book and if there are repeated examples of factual error he should be removed from the candidates list. We need our future MPs to be trustworthy and credible.

@sylvesterhakin Why wouldn’t he report it to the Number 10 security team first and foremost. This is not any old mobile phone - this is a politically sensitive phone. None of this adds up .

Well well.. 👀 “Police will reopen inquiries into the theft of a mobile phone belonging to Sir Keir Starmer’s ex-chief of staff which held messages relating to Peter Mandelson’s scandal-hit appointment as US ambassador. The Metropolitan Police admitted failings after The Times reported officers did not properly investigate the theft of Morgan McSweeney’s phone despite his senior No 10 role and the sensitivity of his messages and contacts. The phone was taken as McSweeney returned home from a restaurant in Pimlico, central London on 20 October last year, the newspaper reported, around a month after the Prime Minister sacked Lord Mandelson as ambassador over his links to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein” It’s always the cover up that does it🧐

The Jackdaw field alone could provide the equivalent of 250 million barrels of oil in natural gas, and could be up and running by Christmas. But because of Ed Miliband and the Labour Party it is stuck in limbo. Keeping us ever more reliant on imports. Madness.

@normiewrites @AndrewBowie_MP Nonsense. Oil and gas are not used solely to generate electricity, which meets only 20% of the country's energy needs, never mind all the by-producrs in the chemicals, plastics, fertiliser and pharmaceuticals industries

This is a pity. The Reform MPs all backed me up on Trafalgar Square. So I don’t know why Zia is like this. I thought he was more into “substance”.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

No, Nick Timothy is not “brave”. He was literally Theresa May’s Chief of Staff, the driving force behind Mayism and its “burning injustices” agenda.  He is an architect of what you saw in Trafalgar Square. He launched the Race Disparity Audit – a massive government trawl of ethnicity data across schools, NHS, prisons, jobs and housing to unearth any disparity of outcome and claim it was evidence of institutional discrimination. He personally oversaw the 2017 Tory Manifesto, the wokest of all: Forcing civil service diversity targets, an obsession with tackling “hate crime” including transgender identity. It was this rampant wokery that laid the foundations for Labour’s Islamophobia definition. All while talking about building a “Great Meritocracy”, obsessed with group disparities. He promised to cut net immigration to the tens of thousands.  Instead he supercharged immigration and net immigration has been over *3 million* since. Now he wants to be celebrated for pointing to the fires he started. Make no mistake, what you saw in Trafalgar Square would not have been possible were it not for Nick Timothy. He is a classic Tory.  Tweets in the direction of where the wind blows. Set the country ablaze when in power, then lie when kicked out. He is an arsonist firefighter and belongs in the dustbin of history, along with the rest of the Tory Party.
