Nigeria is a society where those whose circumstances closely resemble this guy are celebrating on behalf of the rich people who got him jailed, because they feel much more empathy for rich people than they do for themselves. Everyday I see why colonisation was possible...

@Big_Mck Oppression is a general market, eveybody go collect. The precedent has been set a long time ago, you will be bullied and oppressed for something very trivial just to show you class.

I find it very ironic that influencers are the ones defending Adekunle Gold. People whose livelihood depends solely on talking about other people. As an influencer, you literally need free speech to survive. That Adekunle is friend or your PR client does not immune you from falling victim of the precedent you are setting. Everyone is currently running their mouth about Chike. What you forget is that all Chike needs to do is team with the Nigerian police, put a criminal spin to all that you have been saying, and he will start arresting your people one by one. Like I keep saying, the only time you will realize the ridiculousness of what you are supporting is when it affects you directly. Carry on.

@Big_Mck I have one in my comment in a previous post calling me a retard, stupid and nuisance for saying the 2 years doesnt make sense for that offense should i sue him too. Or oppression is a general market, lots of precedents have been set in this country and e go reach everybody.

“The court had to protect Simi and his family” Says a poor Nigerian who does not have physical security, but their priority in life is to protect Adekunle Gold and Simi from cyber threats. Police can literally shoot you for no reason, and nothing will happen, but you are more worried about how Simi and her husband feel reading internet posts that no one is forcing them to read. They can literally protect themselves from the internet if that's their priority. There are many options for that, provided by the platforms themselves. But no, they want to be on the internet to receive positive comments only and sell their music, while you lot act as their soldiers, defending them from trolling. Smh.

@tyga_tunatii @DavidHundeyin 2 good years, there should be another way to punish him than waste his 2 years for that kind of crime. His greatest offense here is he is not rich.

Omo I’m so confused why this is a Poor vs Rich conversation, even by someone like you that’s supposedly learned. He made grave statements against an individual and he was arrested, taken to court and found guilty and then sentenced. Was it unlawful? There’s someone new that just said that davido’s wife has HIV, if he sues now, you’d say the same thing. We don’t even want justice, it’s like y’all just hate the rich, I won’t join that stupid bandwagon of poor people trying to make stupid division where there’s none.

@YusufAsunmogejo @The_Umdazz @iambasidoo Soon we will understand the hostility some have for nursing mothers, hostility for young children i because they play around in mosque while prayer is on going and related matters cumulatively are part of the reason our teenagers have less motivation to pray.

That crying is the sound of a growing ummah. And it is a test of our own concentration. Instead of getting annoyed, we should be offering a smile or a bit of help to the mother who is likely more stressed than anyone else in the room. Your "not compulsory" argument is technically true, however, it is often used to exclude women. Just because you don't have to be there doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to be there. A mosque that is perfectly quiet is a mosque that is dying out. We should be grateful for the noise because it means there is a next generation coming up behind us.
The Ummulkhairi@The_Umdazz

I was at the Abuja National Mosque for Maghrib prayer today, and a baby started crying even before the prayer began. The crying continued throughout the entire prayer until we finished. Honestly, mothers with young children should reconsider bringing them to the mosque if they know the child is likely to cry a lot, because it can be very distracting for other people trying to concentrate in prayer. Since going to the mosque is not compulsory for women. Before you call me names, I’m a mother of 2, so I know what being a mother is.

@IduhJr @Abu_The_Truth BIG NONSENSE, recently what pained me most was there were people against that woman who complained online about the man and the dog book, that she is destroying one’s business. How about raising hostile and vile children is that not jeopardising their future.

By the end of the 1950s, China suffered a terrible famine. The US denied them from buying grains and spread Propaganda that Mao allowed it to happen which resulted in tens of millions of Chinese deaths. They didn't stop at that, the US created a blockade and got the Western nations to form a ChinCom to stop all trade to China causing food insecurity. China suffered severely at the wicked talons of America. That the United States fear China today is not because China is a bad country. It is afraid of revenge. It is afraid of itself because of the evil it is capable of. The United States is always afraid that people will do to them what they would do to people if they were to have the same leverage those people have. That China is open to the world despite what it went through is proof that people can achieve great things when they turn their suffering into the determination to be free and sufficient.

@lorddrey Yes, true. But the reason I called it bias is because your points often seem to place little or no fault on other countries, while America takes almost all the blame.

I was on a train in Tokyo. We stopped between stations. Announcement in Japanese, then in English: "We apologize for the delay. We will resume shortly." The delay was maybe 3 minutes. Not a big deal. When the train started moving again, another announcement: "We sincerely apologize for the delay. We were stopped for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. This is unacceptable. Thank you for your patience." Three minutes and twenty seconds. They measured it exactly. And called it unacceptable. When I got off at my stop, there were station staff on the platform bowing and handing out delay certificates. I took one out of curiosity. It was an official document stating that the train had been delayed by 3 minutes and 20 seconds, signed and stamped. The staff member said in English "for your employer. So they know the delay was not your fault." I said I'm a tourist, I don't need it. He looked confused. "But the delay affected you. You deserve an apology." Three minutes. They were treating a three-minute delay like a major incident. Later I mentioned this to a Japanese friend. They said "oh yes, delay certificates are normal. Trains are supposed to be exactly on time. If they are late, they must apologize." I said three minutes isn't late, it's nothing. My friend said "in Japan, three minutes is late. On time means on time. Not approximately on time." They said the train company probably investigated why there was a 3-minute delay. "They will find the cause and fix it so it doesn't happen again." I kept the certificate. It's framed in my apartment now. A reminder that somewhere in the world, people care about three minutes. © 6IX.

If not for Chinese solar panels, most Nigerians households won’t be able to afford a solar power plant at home. Try asking for price of European solar panels and your mind go touch ground. We should be grateful to China for making life easier for us.
