Graaff-Reinet will always be Graaff-Reinet. It is one of the most important towns in Afrikaner history. It was built from scratch by our ancestors and played a central role in the Great Trek where our culture and traditions were truly shaped. The ANC will never be allowed to erase our heritage. It stops here and now.

Resident of Robert Sobukwe town, formerly known as Graaff Reinet, are marching in support of the name change of the historic town. Graaff Reinet was established in 1786 and named after the then-governor of the Cape Colony, Cornelis Jacob van de Graaff. The name change for the town to Robert Sobukwe town was gazetted in February and formal objections to the name change closed on the 6th of March. Two weeks ago residents opposing the name change took to the streets in protest. #SABCNEWS

The new US ambassador extended what can only be described as a generous olive branch to Pretoria, calling for a reset in relations between South Africa and America. Instead of engaging, the government issued a demarche and the media amplified claims that the ambassador had “attacked” the country. In reality, his remarks were overwhelmingly positive about South Africa and its potential. The real question is why Pretoria continues to sabotage the prospect of a trade and investment pact with the US. @VFPlus @MulderCorn There's no spat. Foreign policy is the prerogative of the President, not the coalition or Parliament. Parliament only gets involved if there's a treaty that needs ratification. If the Freedom Front Plus wants to dictate foreign policy, then it should win enough votes to take

The Democratic Alliance has to clarify whether its Federal Leader is representing the institution when he refers to SAAI, Sakeliga, and Free State Agriculture as "Afri-MAGA" (quoted twice in this article). If yes, why, and if not, is he being recalled? news24.com/southafrica/ne…

The ANC now officially expresses sympathy after the death of a despot, oppressor and murderer - Just a reminder: 1. Khamenei was a dictator. 2. During his four-decade rule, he had thousands of Iranians killed. 3. Comprehensive freedom that women, minorities and civil society enjoyed in Iran before 1979 was taken away after the revolution by Khomeini and after him Khamenei. 4. Khamenei was the mastermind behind the creation, financing and arming of proxy groups that have sown a reign of terror in many countries over the years. 5. In January this year, Khamenei ordered that thousands of Iranians be shot dead in the streets in order to put an end to the protests there.

South African President Ramaphosa's statement on Iran is a great example of how Third-Worldist regimes weaponize concepts like international law. President Ramaphosa invokes it here, but of course South Africa ignores international law when convenient, such as when it refused to arrest Omar al-Bashir who was under ICC indictment for genocide. Leaving aside the hypocrisy, the statement’s conception of international law is uselessly simplistic. It ignores that the Iranian regime is violently hostile to the US (and Israel). It perpetrated the US embassy invasion, the Marine Barracks and Khobar Tower bombings, the torture and murder of CIA Station Chief Buckley, the killing of US military personnel in Iraq, and attempted terror attacks in the US. Those are just some of the acts of war it committed against the US. It has done at least as much to countries like Israel and is currently indiscriminately attacking civilian infrastructure in various countries. Its biggest crime of all is what it has done to Iranians themselves for nearly 50 years. Also, there's this from the statement: "Military confrontation has never delivered sustainable peace." That’s nonsense, with WW2 being the most obvious counterexample. As always, the lesson is that when a Third-Worldist government invokes international law, it's best to take them very unseriously.
The Presidency 🇿🇦@PresidencyZA

PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA CALLS FOR DIALOGUE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND CONDENMS INTERNATIONAL LAW VIOLATIONS President @CyrilRamaphosa and the Government of the Republic of South Africa expresses deep concern regarding the escalation of tensions in the Middle East. These developments pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security, with far-reaching humanitarian, diplomatic and economic consequences. President Ramaphosa calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to act in a manner consistent with international iaw, international humanitarian law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. Article 51 of the UN Charter provides for self-defence only when a state has been subjected to an armed invasion. Anticipatory self-defence is not permitted under international law and self-defence cannot be based on assumption or anticipation. Experience has repeatedly demonstrated that there can be no military solution to fundamentally political problems that can and should be resolved diplomatically. Military confrontation has never delivered sustainable peace, nor has it addressed the legitimate grievances that underlie conflict. Long-term peace and stability can only be achieved through inclusive dialogue and a genuine commitment to justice and coexistence. President Ramaphosa therefore, reiterates his call for intensified diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and create space for continued meaningful negotiations. "We urge the international community, including multilateral institutions and regional partners, to redouble efforts aimed at promoting mediation and peaceful resolution. As a nation that has emerged from conflict through dialogue and reconciliation, South Africa remains steadfast in its belief that peace is not only possible, but imperative for the shared future of the Middle East and the world", said President Ramaphosa. 4 Days after the arrival of 1,5 million doses of F&M vaccine, there is still no sign of it on farms or feedlots. State administration is blocking it. This is why, in Brazil and elsewhere in the world, the state only monitored and reported on the vaccination campaign, private sector did the rest

Imagine this scenario: while SA looses a dairy a day, and the F&M virus wrecks havoc in all 9 provinces, another 1,5m doses delivered over the weekend, got stuck in administrative bungling. No sense of urgency. No sympathy. No consequences for the senior govt officials in "control"

In command of every fact. He didn’t dodge a single question. You can tell he lives this stuff. He’s built for moments like this. Right now he looks exactly like what a Secretary of State should look like. 🇺🇸🔥
