Do you think we should also have 3.5x fewer collisions in 🇨🇭Switzerland ? Or are you just fine with 17000 traffic accidents and 250 deaths / year ? We need Level 4 autonomy, but we also need breakthroughs in L2 systems. 😉 Tesla's FSD is that breakthrough. @BR_Sprecher @UVEK @TOS_Switzerland @TCS_Suisse

News from Astra (Switzerland). This is just a small snippet from a long answer. I have to admit, the guys at Astra are way better in communication than @teslaeurope... Thank you @UVEK

Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.  Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer. Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to: – 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads – 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs – 4,500+ track test scenario executions – Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements – Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point. We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

These files are a BOMBSHELL. Thanks to the @JudiciaryGOP, we now have proof that the EU has been actively censoring legal content that goes against their agenda—and that they interfered in at least 8 European elections, including the Dutch elections of 2023 and 2025, by meeting with social media platforms to pressure them to censor political speech in the days before the vote. Leading up to the Dutch elections of 2023 the EU commission even made the then Dutch Interior Ministry @hugodejonge a "trusted flagger" entitled to make priority censorship requests under the DSA. What kind of political speech did they want to censor, you ask? - “Populist rhetoric” - “Anti-government/anti-EU content” - “Anti-elite” content - “Political satire” - “Anti-migrant and Islamophobic content” - “Anti-refugee content/anti-immigrant sentiment” - “Anti-LGBTQI content” - “Meme subculture” In other words, anything that goes against their agenda, anything remotely right-wing or conservative, and anything pertaining to the disastrous migrant situation we have here in Europe. And guess what the only platform was that did not cooperate? @X, of course. The same platform that the EU is fining for 120 million euros under the DSA and the same platform that is currently having its offices raided in France. This is the type of stuff over which governments should resign and institutions like the EU should fall. Democracy is dead. Abolish the EU! Now!

🚨The EU Censorship Files, Part II For more than a year, the Committee has been warning that European censorship laws threaten U.S. free speech online. Now, we have proof: Big Tech is censoring Americans’ speech in the U.S., including true information, to comply with Europe’s far-reaching Digital Services Act.

@ChristianSchrul @NicklasNilsso14 What is even more annoying is that i had a FSD Drive scheduled in Stuttgart over the holidays. Since CH became available, i booked that ride too. They then cancelled my Stuttgart one (understandable to give everyone a chance). But now i am not sure if i am gonna get any drive :/

@ChristianSchrul @NicklasNilsso14 imo the only possible regulatory issue in Switzerland is the hands-on-wheel rule. But then just tell the driver to keep hands on wheel. The "Busy" excuse was understandable for EOY push to beat Skoda, but surely not today. And if it is, they should hire temps or not announce it.

🚗⚡ Email by ASTRA 🇨🇭 regarding FSD approval in Switzerland when NL approves it. Main take: if approved in NL and @Tesla asks for a temporary exemption in Switzerland, they might allow FSD Supervised. Only-Hands On, though. 👇

@evclinic Do you suspect the LG 5M Packs Tesla now uses in Model Y Premium & Performance from Berlin will have the same issue? It is a new cell, but same chemistry right?

Media hype around “Made in China” battery systems being the “best” has never been confirmed in real-world practice. We are raising serious concerns about Tesla Model 3/Y LG NCM811 battery packs (LGES Nanjing), which show extremely high failure rates and a noticeably shorter end-of-life compared with Panasonic NCA packs (Made in USA). In over 90% of the cases we receive, cell-level repair is not possible on LG packs. The cell degradation within affected modules is far beyond anything that could be restored. The issue is rarely a single bad cell—most failing modules contain multiple cells with extremely high internal resistance. Out of 46 cells, it is common to find 15 cells over 100 mΩ ACIR, and the remaining 30 cells above 50 mΩ ACIR. Given these patterns, adjacent series groups measured in parallel modules often show resistance values already above acceptable limits. This means that even if we replace the faulty cells with used, matching donor cells (never with new cells), the remaining weakened cells are likely to fail in a cascade. This makes the repair operationally unsustainable, as the entire pack is clearly nearing end-of-life, exposing us to extremely high warranty and labor costs. Another unknown is this: If one out of four modules is badly degraded, what are the chances that replacing a single module will result in a stable pack, and for how long? Is it realistic to expect another 100,000 km of trouble-free use after replacing one module? Most likely not. At this moment, during ongoing experimental testing with real customers experiencing LG failures, we are losing over €20,000 per month in operational time while investigating whether LG’s Chinese NCM811 systems can be sustainably repaired. At this stage, we can confidently say: the cells are, to put it mildly, catastrophic. Panasonic has mostly single cell falire at 250,000km, and it is repairable, where LG hasmultiple cell failur. For reference: •A healthy Panasonic cell typically shows ~10 mΩ, while a new LG Nanjing cell starts around 28 mΩ. •A failing Panasonic cell reaches ~28 mΩ, which is what LG cells measure when brand new. It is extremely difficult to explain this complexity to customers. The only alternative we can responsibly offer—although very rarely—is replacing the entire battery pack with a used Panasonic pack from the secondary market. This brings us to a fundamental question: Where does the media hype come from claiming that Chinese-made cells are “better”? In practice, the best Li-ion cells are made in Europe (LG Chem, Samsung SDI) and the USA (Panasonic). China’s strength is limited primarily to LFP technology, but Blade-format LFP packs are entirely non-repairable researched by independent institutes. ⸻ Important Notice for Tesla owners with Chinese LG packs Due to extremely high operational losses, we must introduce an experimental “repair check feasibility” fee to determine whether repair is even possible. If the pack is deemed non-repairable, the only options are: 1.Replacement with a used Panasonic pack 2.Full pack replacement at a Tesla Service Center When supplying used Panasonic packs, we do not guarantee range, charging speed, or long-term capacity. Warranty covers functional defects—not degradation or reduced range. This article also serves as an official disclaimer. ⸻ Reference Data Part number: 17000012-00-B OEM price: €15,355 (excl. tax, EPC) EVC repair check: €1,200 non-refundable (remove/assemble) Waived if repair is possible EVC full repair: €5,500 (excl. tax) EVC Panasonic swap: €8,000 (excl. tax) ⸻ Estimated End-of-Life (EOL) •Panasonic packs: ~400,000 km •LG NCM811 (China): ~250,000 km

Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa
Tesla has been working hard toward shipping Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in Europe for over 12 months now. We have given FSD demos to regulators of almost every EU country. We have requested early access, pilot release programs or exemptions where possible. We have developed & shared detailed safety evidence for FSD, now public in our latest Safety Report. And we have driven over 1 million kilometers safely on EU roads across 17 different countries (internal testing).  Our main path to success is partnering with the Dutch approval authority RDW to gain exemption for the feature. This involves proving compliance with existing regulations (UN-R-171 DCAS) + filing an exemption (EU Article 39) for yet-to-be-regulated behaviors like Level 2 systems off-highway, system-initiated lane changes with hands-off the wheel etc.  Some of these regulations are outdated and rules-based, which makes FSD illegal in its current form. Changing FSD to be compliant with these rules would make it unsafe and unusable in many cases. While we have changed FSD to be maximally compliant where it is logical and reasonable, we won't sacrifice the safety of a proven system or materially deteriorate customer usability.  As a result, we are gathering evidence to get exemptions on a specific rule-by-rule basis. Unfortunately, the real world fleet-proven safety wins alone are considered insufficient.  Currently, RDW has committed to granting Netherlands National approval in February 2026. Please contact them via link below to express your excitement & thank them for making this happen as soon as possible. Upon NL National approval, other EU countries can immediately recognize the exemption and also allow rollout within their country. Then we will bring it to a TCMV vote for official EU-wide approval.  We're excited to bring FSD to our owners in Europe soon! rdw.nl/en/contact/our…
