@Mickywhiteheart @Anya_Nyako2505 @vangeorgh Practicing that,I wish more architects actually looked to ancient African methods of design they are the epitome of design for me.And in them we would find systems that save us so much money and the environment

@Anya_Nyako2505 @vangeorgh Auntie, if we go by standards and not our pocket,we should be able to heat up our homes during the cold months and cool it down during the hot months. Yes it’s true that Jos can be ‘cold’ but overall, this is an ideal design for indoor comfort all year round for a place like Jos.

Saw this video of Kunle Afolayan’s private residence on TikTok. This is called tropical style of Architecture and it is how we should build our houses in tropical climates like we have here in Nigeria and other countries along the equator..

@Mickywhiteheart @Anya_Nyako2505 @vangeorgh Or we can make buildings like our ancestors did with the use of materials that cool in summer and heat up in cold just as the architect is suggesting they didn’t need to be rich for that just knowledgeable to this day there African societies in rural areas

No words can ever describe this feeling. None. This afternoon I passed my UK maritime coast guard Master Mariner unlimited examination. For my non- mariners, This is the highest level of competency in the merchant navy.

USAID FUNDING HALT INEVITABLE – HICHILEMA By Best Jere President Hakainde Hichilema has described the suspension of USAID funding and related programs in Africa as inevitable. Following a meeting with Winnie Byanyima, the UNAIDS Executive Director and United Nations Under-Secretary-General, on the sidelines of the AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Hichilema emphasized the significant impact and disruption caused by the withdrawal of USAID funding. However, he noted that Africa's true strength lies in the prudent management of its own resources, adding that the meeting came at a crucial time. He stressed that prioritizing efficiency and reducing wasteful and consumptive expenditure will be key in redirecting resources toward critical sectors such as health, agriculture, and education. Meanwhile, during a bilateral meeting with Trade and Development Bank (TDB) Group President and Managing Director, President Hichilema urged the bank to take a leading role in addressing the financial imbalance where Africa pays higher costs for capital, which stifles economic growth.

DON’T TELL US HOW TO SPEAK! Just as any two living creatures have a common ancestor in the tree of life, so any two languages have a common tongue from which they ultimately derived. Scientists currently believe that the world’s 6,000 modern languages, from English to Mandarin, can all be traced back to a ‘mother tongue’ - an ancestral language spoken in Africa 50,000 to 70,000 years ago. Differently put: all languages are descended from primordial African! This makes it all the more galling that Africans who visit, work or live outside of the continent are often taunted and laughed at because sometimes they don’t pronounce English words ‘properly’ - even though these words are ‘deviations’ (however far removed) from African-language words. The continent’s turbulent history of colonisation is the reason for the use of European languages in African schools, commerce and governments today. However, something that is overlooked is that most Africans are accustomed to speaking multiple languages, perhaps three or more, throughout the course of a single day. That’s one reason Africans pronounce certain words with an accent - they can speak other languages fluently enough for those languages to interfere with their English. In this clip, Anna Mwalagho (@mamaafricaanna) - an African storyteller living in the United States - gives a passionate defence of the uniqueness of African accents, arguing that this diversity is something to celebrate and be proud of. Hit like if you agree. Video Credit: @mamaafricaanna (IG)

. Mum was a widow of an abusive marriage and with a 5 yo son (my brother) . Dad was in his 40s committed to being a bachelor. Aunt wanted dad to find a companion, so she wrote an emotional letter. He was moved, agreed to marry, but only if the girl was a widow/divorcee....contd..
