@OpenParlyZw It takes 4 years to produce a fully grounded Form 4 student using the Cambridge System. With @zimsecOFFICIAL it takes less than a Year. How else do you justify a change of curriculum in less than one year and students write THEIR FIRST FINAL YEAR EXAMINATIONS WITHIN THAT PERIOD?

Zimbabwe’s education system is shifting toward one national exam framework from 2027 but international exams are still in the mix. Is this strengthening education or limiting choice? Let’s talk 👇

President @edmnangagwa is building very beautiful roads in Zimbabwe… CAB3 ensures this continues. The man is COMPETENT & FOCUSED, I wouldn’t mind giving him 5 more years to continue DEVELOPING the country’s infrastructure… People want development, nothing else. NSSA said it registered almost half a million NEW FORMAL EMPLOYEES in the past 2 years… that translates to almost half a million FORMAL JOBS created in Zimbabwe in the past 2 years… Those doubting the numbers are simply unaware of the NEW MINES, NEW FACTORIES, and a whole lot of infrastructure projects ongoing in the country… All sectors of the Zimbabwean economy are experiencing growth, thus creating new jobs & other opportunities for Zimbabweans… Do you know this👇🏽 area???

@snowballOfficia Thats what happens when a civil service is politicized to listen to ONE Party in power. How can these Ministers who are hand picked to be MP or Senator be impartial & hold Executive to account let alone impeach the Head of the Executive (President). #CAB3 mutilates accountability

CABINET DECISIONS ARE FINAL — AG SAYS MINISTERS MUST SUPPORT GOVT OR QUIT By News Byte Zw ATTORNEY-GENERAL Virginia Mabiza has warned that ministers and Vice Presidents cannot publicly oppose Cabinet decisions, saying anyone who disagrees with Government policy should resign. Speaking over the weekend, Mabiza said Zimbabwe’s Constitution makes it clear that Cabinet operates under the principle of collective responsibility, meaning all members of the Executive must stand behind decisions made by Government. “The law is very clear in terms of how Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Cabinet should conduct themselves,” she said. Mabiza cited Sections 106 and 107 of the Constitution, explaining that Cabinet members are accountable both individually and collectively to the President. She said each minister is personally responsible for running their ministry, implementing Government policy and carrying out directives from the President within the law and Cabinet procedures. At the same time, she stressed that Cabinet operates as a united team, meaning all ministers are expected to publicly defend agreed Government positions — even if they privately disagreed during deliberations. “Once Cabinet adopts a policy, every Cabinet member must publicly support and defend it,” Mabiza said. “If a minister can’t support a Cabinet decision, the obvious option is to resign.” Mabiza also warned against leaking Cabinet discussions or distancing oneself from official Government positions after decisions have been made. “Discussions stay in Cabinet. A member is not allowed to leak or distance themselves later,” she said. She added that the President has full authority over Cabinet members and can reprimand, reassign, demote or dismiss ministers and Vice Presidents individually without dissolving the entire Cabinet. “The President appoints and may remove ministers at his discretion,” Mabiza said, adding that ministers serve at the President’s pleasure under Section 104 of the Constitution. She referenced former Industry Minister Nkosana Moyo as an example of a Cabinet member who resigned after deciding he was no longer suited to remain in Government. Mabiza said Government is also working on legislation to strengthen governance standards and introduce a formal code of conduct for Vice Presidents, ministers and deputy ministers in line with Section 106(3) of the Constitution.

Surely @British_Airways could make money off of a Gatwick 🇬🇧-Lusaka 🇿🇲-Harare 🇿🇼 service. Without actually looking at the numbers, I'm going to claim that there's enough diaspora, diplomatic corps, businessmen, tourists, and English blooded locals in these countries to fill an Airbus A350 5 days a week on this route.

Cambridge was never designed to serve the interests of Zimbabwe. Education must be treated with caution because it nurtures, socialises & produces ideological human capital (un-) fit for society. ZIMSEC is filling in that lacunae!
LFCPrince@princenqaba

@AlexanderRusero You can't abolish something you didn't set up.. the government shouldn't be preventing people from choosing which system they want to use. What's next..telling people which books they shouldnt read? Gvmnt schools should provide zimsec.. but private schools shouldn't have to.

@CrimeWatchZW “Modifying a diesel engine to run on ethanol (particularly high-concentration blends like ED95) requires several key mechanical and chemical changes because ethanol lacks the self-ignition properties and lubrication of diesel.” This isn’t viable at all.

Diesel–Ethanol trials begin in Zimbabwe Zimbabwe has started testing a new type of fuel made by mixing diesel and ethanol. The aim is to see if this blend can work well in the country’s conditions. The government confirmed on 3 May 2026 that the trials are already underway, even though fuel prices in Zimbabwe are still higher than in nearby countries. This step is part of efforts to reduce fuel costs and depend less on imported fuel. At the same time, some neighbouring countries have reduced fuel prices by cutting taxes to support their citizens. Energy and Power Development Minister July Moyo said the project is still at an early stage, and no start date has been set for full use. “We have started experiments, and they are being carried out by Green Fuel. For now, there is no timeline for when this will begin, but the results of the trials will guide what happens next,” he said.

An "enlightened” government characterized by foresight, rationality & a focus on long-term societal well-being will NOT prioritize flashy new construction for political gain. Modern Govt is defined heavy & disciplined investment in maintenance & renewal. @zimtreasury has failed

@zanupf_patriots An independent assessment is required because of the complexities involved in mixing Diesel & Ethanol. #greenfuels is an interested party. Not everything said by Ministers should be taken as the gospel truth nor assumed to be in our interest. They are political appointees

Govt begins process of blending diesel amid fuel cost pressures‼️ ZIMBABWE has begun formal research and trials into blending diesel with ethanol, marking a potentially significant shift as the Government continues to implement measures to cushion consumers from rising fuel costs, reduce import dependence and shield the economy from global oil price shocks

@matigary @ChikomoPrazen Agreed but you don’t just wake and say with immediate effect I am stopping a program that takes 14 years to complete (Grade 1 to Form 6) it’s not emotional decision you take hours after visiting the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. @ChikomoPrazen Cambridge exams were historically taken in Zimbabwe not as a choice but a function of government policy. Exams everywhere and educational curriculum are taken not as a choice but a function of government policy. This is true everywhere across the world,

Brother, the debate is not about cataloguing the advantages or disadvantages of Cambridge versus ZIMSEC. The central issue here is the PRINCIPLE OF FREEDOM OF CHOICE and the question of IMPOSED POLICY. At high school level, there are multiple recognised curricula, including Cambridge, ZIMSEC, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement (AP), Edexcel International GCSE, AQA qualifications, CAPS curriculum, KCSE, and WAEC. The State, if it is not funding or fully financing a particular system, cannot unilaterally impose one option as binding while shifting the burden elsewhere. That raises a fundamental question of GOVERNANCE, ACCOUNTABILITY, and EDUCATIONAL AUTONOMY. That is the real debate here, and that is where we can engage meaningfully!!!
𝑲𝒖𝒅𝒛𝒂𝒊 𝑴𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒊@KMutisi

Is there an advantage of writing Cambridge Examinations though? What’s that advantage? School leaving certificates are for University Admission and there is no University in the world that rejects ZIMSEC… none… what’s not attractive about it???

Government must do for people what they can’t do for themselves. I did Zimsec so are my children, allow those who don’t want Zimsec not to do it. This over legislation is a problem. Just make Zimsec attractive and allow for choice simple.
