Proof of everything the Sabres built this season. Pause the video and zoom in on any face in the crowd. Can’t find anyone over the age of 30. This season alone did the legwork of 4-5 normal ‘good’ seasons. A whole new generation is here.

1993 - The Buffalo Bills won their third AFC Championship to go to the Super Bowl - Mogilny 76 goals, Lafontaine scored 148 points & should have won the cup - Terminator 2 on VHS - GNR/Metallica still fresh in memory at Rich Stadium. As good as life in Buffalo ever got.

One of the reasons this season was so magical for the fanbase was because Lindy Ruff was behind the bench. This contract extension gives him at least two more cracks at this, which is very well deserved after the job he did this past season.

It’s like we live in a city where we always lose a coin toss but the coin is two sided and pain always lands facing up.

I don’t believe in curses or sports being rigged but it’s tremendously difficult being a Buffalo sports fan. No major championships and countless heartbreaking defeats. The numbers say it’s harder to win championships in the modern era than back in the day due to how large professional sports leagues have grown. Having only two teams and being in a small market makes it even more difficult to breakthrough. Makes you wonder if it’ll ever happen in our lifetimes. But our love for the Sabres and Bills is why we continue to watch. As they say, there’s always next year!
