Other than being a Gen Z lawyer, I do fight banditry and cattle rustling; an intergenerational problem which threatens communities in the Kerio Valley and Northern Frontier Districts of Kenya. Kindly share to raise awareness and help protect my people. Follow me 🙏 #EndBanditry

Mans even went for a road test all the way to Karen, then said he was stepping into an ATM and that’s the last anyone saw of him. He disappeared without paying the bills, only leaving behind his shuka and jacket

There’s a guy pretending to be Maasai who’s been roaming around Nairobi scamming people. Recently, he showed at Wilson and ordered two kilos of Tumbukiza. He was telling people he’d just been paid for clan land and now wanted to buy a car in cash.
MethoDman@polo_kimanii

Kule Narok Maasai iko na pesa like nonsense. Jamaa inachomoa 300k kwa shuka in cash imekuja kununua ng’ombe unaezadhani ni maembe inanunua buana. If I can find a way of selling these guys something they dont have, tuseme underwear ivi, nairobi nitarudi nikiwa billionare. Siet!

Always remember to commend even the devil itself when deserved😁. Kudos KPL; despite the heavy rains last night, power in Karen did not disappear as is the norm 👏.Keep it up

Pleased to share that I’ve completed my Master of Laws at Liverpool John Moores University. The journey took longer than planned due to relocations from Juba to Mogadishu, Mekelle, and Addis Ababa while advancing my career. Grateful to add this distinction to my academic record.

Muranga County brought mango farmers together, negotiated deals with juice processors . Eg Sunny Mango in Kambiti,Vertz in Machakos,Premier Foods Nbi . Sunny makes puree, which Coca cola buys, & makes your juice. Farmers now earn Ksh 23 per Kg - up from Ksh 3 .

"If keen enough, you'll notice that young advocates are overrepresented in challenges but underrepresented in decisions. You are not ancillary to the LSK, you like any other advocate are central." I endorse Faith Jappann as a necessary disruptor and LSK Up-Country Rep.

I’ve just come across this disturbing video from Nandi hills . A group of youths were simply playing pool. Police walk in. The youths comply. And yet they’re heavily beaten anyway. So I’m honestly asking, what was the offence here? We’re told daily by murkomen that we now have a disciplined police service. Is this what that discipline looks like? Accountability isn’t being anti-police. It’s being pro-justice. Those officers should be identified and arrested.

South Africa, Nigeria, Mali, Mozambique & Burkina Faso are being delisted from the EU list of high risk jurisdictions for money laundering and terrorism financing. Kenya remains grey-listed by the Financial Action Task Force. We ought to work on our international profile.

Deep in remote Yatia in Baringo County, a local Chief introduces a story that hits painfully close to home. Devastated by the loss of his own child to ruthless bandit attacks, he now stands as a witness to a remarkable contrast between life under constant threat and the fragile peace now returning to families long trapped in conflict. Through his eyes, we trace the brutal history of violence that scarred his community, and the new chapter being written under Operation Maliza Uhalifu.

@Benign_Overlord That's part of the job which comes with the role. If expertise needs to be outsourced or in extreme cases of capacity constraints then procurement of services is permissible.

Presidential election petition? I doubt..that pressure is too much...even with a monthly salary of 500K siwezi kubali
Daniel Murkomen@MurkomenDaniel

@Benign_Overlord IEBC and other independent commissions have capacity to represent themselves. However, State Law is almost always enjoined as a respondent in petitions. Interestingly, the AG has appeared alongside and on different sides of these commissions in different proceedings.

@Pareno_Solonka I concur. That “protecting our bread” is not and should not be a sufficient justification. Public procurement exists to serve citizens and taxpayer money cannot be illegally and irregularly channeled to subsidize professional livelihoods of a few individuals or firms.

Accountability and transparency must apply to all sectors, including the legal profession. How many lawyers could be hired into public service with the billions paid to a few firms? Government sues itself, then pays billions to individuals. Absurd!

@LegalEzra @AGOfficeKenya In many cases, they only reach out after proceedings have already been instituted and sometimes only after adverse orders have been issued. By then, damage is done. Litigation is being managed reactively, not strategically. State Counsels do try.

@LegalEzra Having worked at these regional chambers, I observed that the real challenge is the point at which public institutions, especially schools, engage the @AGOfficeKenya.

Those AG chambers upcountry can barely defend the educational institutions properly from the road traffic accidents, employment claims and unpaid debts but you say they are well staffed? Add the healthcare and other facilities. If you have sat in these boards, you must know!
Ochieng' Amos@ochiamos

I have worked at AG Chambers. They have branches in more than 2/3s of the counties. Properly staffed too. If anything, the AG doesn't usually outsource legal briefs in the far flung counties where they lack an office. They outsource juicy briefs in Nairobi. Tafuta excuse ingine.
