At first, I decided not to post this video. It's unbearable to watch it. But I'm posting it because it's what Russia does to Ukrainians, to our kids, every single day. Those bastards have committed yet another act of terrorism on Kherson's civilians. Kids were injured. Their dad was killed right in front of them. Russian artillery shelling of Kherson killed a man. His wife and two daughters, aged six and three, were injured - they suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. The family was at a children's playground at the moment of the attack. Horrible.

I follow with concern the war in #Ukraine, which is experiencing a sharp intensification in these days. I wish to express my closeness to all those suffering due to recent attacks carried out even against civilians. War does not solve problems but worsens them. It does not create security but multiplies suffering and hatred. Where missiles and drones fall, hopes also fall; homes and places of prayer are destroyed, and innocent lives are broken. I entrust all peoples wounded by war to the protection of the Virgin Mary, Queen of #Peace.

On the phone with President @ZelenskyyUA, I reiterated Europe’s full support for Ukraine as Russia doubles down on its brutal war of aggression. Air defence and drone and counter-drone capabilities are among Europe’s most urgent defence priorities. And Ukraine will be fully integrated into these efforts. The Ukraine Support Loan will make a vital contribution. This year alone, it will provide €28.3 billion to help cover Ukraine’s military needs. We also spoke about Ukraine’s path to EU membership. The coming weeks will be important to take decisive steps forward in the accession process.

There are 2 key questions Govt need to answer when this finally hits the floor of the Dáil: 1. If Spain can include a ban on certain services, why can't Ireland? 2. Services ban rightly imposed re Russian-occupied territory in 2014. If it was implementable then, why not now?

Negotiating with #Russia without leverage is a waste of time. Give me at least one example from history when it worked. What Europe needs to do? Freeze the assets. Show strength. Or expect more threats and manipulations. It’s not just about #Ukraine, but about all of #Europe.
