This is my personal stance and idea for lvfc. It does not represent the con or organization as a whole.
I am extremely proud of the work of our staff, our venues, performers, party hosts and even myself for pulling this off with such success.
I lean into a preference for fun over growth. I envision LVFC to be an event that is what you make it.
A relaxed vacation with drinks by the pool? You can do that.
Dealers den, game rooms and con events? You can do that.
A party block with raves until dawn? You can do that.
If you want to be in a loud party hotel, we have one in our block. If you want a quiet hotel with nice suites, we have one in our block. If you want to gamble some, you can book at a casino next door.
If for any reason LVFC is no longer fun, or it’s not possible we can operate in the same way for whatever reason, I personally, would rather close up shop and thank everyone who helped make it what it was. I would not want to save it from death because we’re nostalgic for it.
It’d be unfair to everyone to set such high expectations and then miss the mark. I don’t speak for the entirety of the organization, I’m only one voice. BUT I would walk away from it in good faith that it’s the right thing to do. I will not try and save a dying horse.
I love LVFC it’s actually a dream come true that exists. It’s been a goal in life since I was a teenager to bring furries to my hometown and show them an amazing time. I want it to succeed, more than most people even know. For now, I’ll dedicate everything I can into my vision for it and hope for the best.
I’m not a founding member of the event, but I do believe my passion for it and tenacity led me to the position I have today, and I will do my best as long as I’m a part of it.
