gm! i just read that 62% of creators feel burnout 👀 the industry doesnt wear down bad creators it wears down good ones who dont take breaks what helps me is wrkng on something COMPLETELY different from what my main focus is gives my brain/imagination/drive a chance to recover

when i started writing my first comic series, Wretches, i didn't know what issue 3 was gonna be. i just knew i had something in the opening and something near the end. i wrote those. then i wrote what connected them. 150 pages later, it was a book.

World Building 101: create a story bible! don't be rudderless... building in the dark. this is key for fleshing out charcters, backstory, story beats, individual chapter beats, relationships, multiple plot lines, critical moments, mood boards, designs, exposition, themes, etc.

World Building 101: the first post helped some people sooo here's some more... While i use a digital whiteboard to gather all of the thoughts in one place, i then like to distill the chapter or scene beats down to fit a single index card. ikik: pen and paper. eewww. but trust me. This forces me to think about EVERY angle of the story and form & develop connections A LOT easier (especially for longer works with multiple characters and storylines). I also know that once I can get it all onto an index card then the foundations are strong and i'm ready to start the script!
