From my understanding the Head of the of Somaliland, Abdirahman Irro, is about to make a historic mistake. Some doors, once opened, cannot be closed. This deal is one of them.
Someone needs to tell Irro, legitimacy is worth nothing if the price is your sovereignty.

It must be clearly stated that Awdal region, with its capital Borama, is an integral part of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The youth of Awdal have firmly opposed the separatist agendas of Hargeisa and their allies in Israel, who blindly exploit the term “recognition” to hide foreign political interests. The people of Awdal stand in support of Palestine and their territorial rights, making it clear that Somalia’s unity and the protection of its land cannot be compromised by bribery or foreign interference.
The Federal Government of Somalia has an urgent responsibility to prevent these dangerous actions that threaten stability in Awdal. The people of Awdal are Somali and have the right to peace, unity, and development within their own country. The actions of the separatists and their foreign backers must be firmly opposed to ensure that Awdal remains part of Somalia, safeguarding national unity and the collective interests of the Somali people.
