Namibians in solidarity with #Cuba🇨🇺. Actions speaks louder than words. Save the date 15 April for an important announcement. Cuba and #Namibia🇳🇦, united in history, shared the same trenches, today we share the principles of brotherhood. #CubaViveEnSuHistoria

Kaizer Chiefs, as shitty as they are, just got lucky because Namibians such as Mohammed Ouseb, Robert Nauseb, Virgil Vries, Pius Eigowab, Oscar Mengo, and Lemmy Narib played there. That's the affinity.

Namibians on a serious note, which soccer teams do Namibians support most between these two Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs?

KIDNAPPING IN SOUTH AFRICA: WHAT THE DATA IS TELLING US — A Safer City Solutions Intelligence Alert:
South Africa is in the grip of a kidnapping epidemic. The numbers are no longer a warning. They are a verdict.
THE STATISTICS
According to SAPS official crime data:
17,061 kidnappings recorded in 2023/24 — a 264% increase over the past decade
50 kidnappings every single day reported to police — and rising
Q2 2024/25: kidnapping surged a further 7.6% year-on-year.
South Africa's rate of 9.57 per 100,000 people is the highest on the African continent.
Gauteng accounts for 51% of all reported kidnappings nationally.
KIDNAPPING vs. EXPRESS KIDNAPPING
Traditional kidnapping — victim held for days or weeks, ransom demanded from family or employer.
Express kidnapping — victim held for hours. Suspects force victims to drain ATMs or authorise mobile banking transfers before releasing — or killing — them. Less than 5% of all kidnappings involve formal ransom demands.
The vast majority occur during hijackings, home invasions and street robberies.
Experts describe it as a "lucrative and low-risk criminal opportunity" — low arrest rates, light sentences, high financial return.
VERIFIED INCIDENTS — SAFER CITY PLATFORM DATA
▪ Corlett Drive, Johannesburg (last week) — Community member kidnapped after a meeting, transported to George Goch Hostel and killed. 5 suspects arrested.

SAFETY TIPS
-Vary your routes — predictable patterns make you a target
-Stay off your phone at traffic lights and in parking areas
-Pre-set low transaction limits on your mobile banking app
-During an express kidnapping — comply and survive
-Share your live location when attending meetings in unfamiliar areas and use the SaferCity APP Track ME
-Activate your panic button immediately — every second of location data matters.
South Africa doesn't have a crime awareness problem. It has a crime intelligence gap.
At Safer City Solutions, we close that gap — real-time hotspot mapping, predictive AI, IMEI risk scoring and panic response infrastructure built for a country under threat.
