Reminder:
The legitimacy of any constitutional amendment comes from the people.
No referendum = no authority to change it.
Stay grounded.

🇿🇼 46 years of independence.
But independence should mean human rights.
It should mean freedom of expression.
It should mean safety for journalists and activists.
Today, many still face abduction, torture, and silence.
This is not the freedom people fought for.

*GWANGWARA JOINS UK PROTEST AGAINST CAB3, DECRIES ATTACK ON GENDER COMMISSION*
*18April 2026|By Khokhelani Xhame-Change Radio*
Zimbabwe's politician, Barbra Tanyanyiwa Gwangwara, a former member of the Constitutional Parliamentary Committee (COPAC) during the 2013 constitution-making process, has joined protests at Zimbabwe House in the UK against the proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3). Gwangwara expressed grief over the bill's aim to repeal provisions, including the Gender Commission and term limits, saying it moves the country backwards.
The CAB3 bill proposes transferring the Zimbabwe Gender Commission's (ZGC) functions to the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC), sparking concerns over women's rights and gender equality. Critics argue this would weaken protections for women and girls, undermining Zimbabwe's constitutional and international obligations.
Gwangwara's participation in the protest highlights growing opposition to CAB3, with women and civil society groups warning that dismantling the ZGC would silence critical advocacy and erase progress made on gender equality.
