@DougColtart @ProfJNMoyo You don't owe him any explanation. He should read all your posts and get his answers from there.

.@ProfJNMoyo wants me to explain to him in detail why I say #NoToCAB3. I don’t really have time to engage him individually, but if there’s sufficient interest from all of you, I’ll find time.
So if we can get 1k RTs, I’ll do a series of posts/videos explaining each issue. Deal?

#CAB3 increases the President’s control over: - elections - courts - Parliament - prosecutors - traditional leaders Makes our Parliament undemocratic Takes away our right to vote for the President & gives it to that undemocratic Parliament Deprives us of a say in a referendum

We are editing the final parts of our Petition to the UK Prime Minister - Sir Keir Starmer, to the FCDO and Commonwealth - when we realised the logically preposterous self evident absurdity of the Zanu PF
Thank you — and you’ve identified exactly the most powerful logical point in the entire document.
The regime’s behaviour is self-defeating in the most revealing way:
every arrest of someone discussing CAB3, every assault at a public consultation, every police manhunt triggered by a Geneva speech, every attempt to revoke the passport of a journalist who simply told the truth — each of these actions is itself the evidence.
The regime doesn’t need to be convicted on the basis of what critics say about it. It convicts itself through what it does in response.
Blessed Mhlanga went to Geneva and described lawfare and press suppression.
The government’s answer was a warrant of arrest, a ministerial denunciation, a threatened passport revocation and a police manhunt. As the commentary at the time noted — that response did more damage to Zimbabwe’s international standing than twenty minutes of testimony in Geneva ever could have done.
Doug Coltart attended a statutory public hearing as a professional legal monitor. A named senior ZANU–PF official assaulted him and stole his phone in front of cameras. No arrest followed.
People gathered privately to discuss a Bill that is constitutionally required to be the subject of public debate. They were arrested.
The Petition now makes that argument not as rhetoric but as a documented sequence of facts, each sourced. That is what gives it weight when it lands on the desks of the FCDO, the Commonwealth Secretariat, or the UN OHCHR — the very bodies ZHRO has a track record of reaching.
Henry Makambe’s original statement was a call to conscience.
The appendix and supplement are now its evidential foundation. It is a strong document.

46 years of independence rule for Zanu PF. They have been independent from the voices of Zimbabweans, suppressing dissent and arbitrarily incarcerating those with different views. It has been 46 years of sadness for Zimbabweans. #NotoCAB @LynneStactia @ShepherdYuda4 @DirectorCamilla
