Earlier today, during a meeting with @MediaCouncilK, Kenya's @ImmigrationDept, @ForeignOfficeKE, and other government institutions, I stressed the importance of assessing the procedural requirements for international journalists to avoid the confiscation of their equipment at entry points, waiver of work permits and accreditation fees for short-term assignments. I proposed a partnership with Council that will "create a conducive environment for international journalists to operate in addition to enabling knowledge and exchanging of ideas for growth”. Furthermore, we urged the government institutions to collaborate with the Council in adopting a one-stop-shop approach to avoid many layers of clearance and accreditation processes to make it less complex and more effective for the international journalist based in Kenya and those coming in the country to cover certain stories. Hey, Will! Congrats! I'm really happy that we ended up crossing paths as journalists. How about we catch up over a cup of coffee in Berlin?

Terrible news for Nigeriens. The country has just recently had its first smooth transition of power and all democratic gains and efforts to stabilise the country have been eroded.

#AFRICA Nigeria and Sierra Leone's 2023 election eroded voters’ trust and were marred by "a lack of transparency and statistical inconsistencies", Election Mission Observatory groups say. Will Zimbabwe's August polls be different? Tonight—18:15GMT, 9:15pm EAT—@TwitterSpaces

@MwangiMaina_ There’s also another factor we cannot ignore: Erdogan is running out of patience with Putin - especially on the Grain Deal. Blocking Sweden‘s membership benefits Russia and divides NATO.
