@MAG40444 @BenjaminDictor Did we hear the same story... because the dude was planning to use Molotov cocktails to assassinate Nerdeen Kiswani. And even if they hadn't hurt anyone, major property damage to advance a political, ideological or religious cause is still terrorism

@BenjaminDictor It was "plot" for vandalism for starters. Tell me Ben, when is the last time you heard about people being blown to bits during an act of vandalism?

Following this foiled terrorist plot, I assume all of my fellow Jews will have to answer the questions “Do you condemn the Jewish Defense League” and “Do you condemn Jewish terrorism” just like every Muslim was asked about Hamas, right?

@mwupfront As someone from FNQ, our oval would've been out of bounds because of curlews . Or simply because it's the wet season and good luck going outside

@scardofmyguitar The ACCC does not play. They live for the moment they can fight a company for fucking with our consumer regulations, and everyone who does business in Australia knows that. So they usually don't try.

This game of blaming guns in Australia ends, now. Post 1996, we’ve not had one mass shooting that’s exceeded 5+ deaths UNTIL Bondi, almost 30 years. Less than 10% of all Homicides in Australia involving a LEGAL Firearm whilst 90% of them were using an ILLEGAL Firearm. Data also shows that the MAJORITY of deaths using a firearm is suicide with most occurring in a RURAL setting when a farmer or someone similar takes their own life in a private setting. Furthermore - Recent years (e.g., 2023–2024): ~31 firearm homicides nationwide, mostly linked to organized crime or disputes involving illegal guns - Keyword again, ILLEGAL. More gun control would NOT have prevent Sundays events, however maybe ASIO doing their job and keep tabs on even low level risk offenders who travelling to hotspots within the Phillipines might have… Or maybe even allowing members Australian society to open carry may have also… Our intelligence branch alongside the Australian Federal Police failed us. Our immigration policies have failed ya. Our federal government; multiple of them, have failed us Hard decision need to happen and happen now. Those decisions should NOT involve further gun control.

@HaiwieXX @OopsGuess The total population of indigenous Australians of just over 1 million is actually higher today than it was when the Brits established a penal colony there. It took a while to get to that point mostly due to Smallpox and other old-world diseases the Australians had no immunity to

So an Australian… from a state built on erased borders, stolen land, and a population replaced rather than governed is asking China why modern borders resemble the Qing Dynasty?🤷🏻‍♀️ My dear clown in Christ, your entire country didn’t even exist before 1901. It was a British prison colony layered on top of a continent after wiping out its owners. Until Australia can explain: why 100% of its land was taken from non-Europeans, why Indigenous people weren’t even counted as humans until 1967, and why its borders follow nothing but the reach of a colonial gunboat, perhaps sit this one out. Empires with 5,000 years of statecraft do not need lectures from a country that still hasn’t solved how to live on land it stole.

“China just reopened the Okinawa question.” Cool, we will reopen the Tibet, Hong Kong, Xinjiang questions. Want to explain why the Han Chinese rule over so many non-Han peoples? Want to explain why the borders of the PRC track so closely to the borders of the Qing Dynasty?

@OopsGuess @ShanktheTanks Ok so just a quick little thing, while we have quite a terrible history, we never classified indigenous Australians as flora and fauna. It's a very prevalent myth but a myth nonetheless. The 1967 referendum was about counting ATSI in the census and allowing the gov to make laws.

It’s always cute when an Australian clown tries to talk about “expansion” and “second-class citizens,” as if the continent you stand on wasn’t taken by wiping out 90% of its owners and legally classifying the survivors as flora and fauna until 1967. China didn’t need genocide to draw a map. Australia did. And the fact that you’re comparing China’s multi-ethnic imperial continuity to a settler colony built entirely on replacement shows exactly why you people project so hard: you have no history long enough to understand anyone else’s. You don’t get to lecture civilizations older than your flag.
