@JaliscoRojo_ La camioneta plateada hace una vuelta ilegal en sentido contrario en la intersección hacia Ricardo Güiraldes. Esto bloquea el motociclista a la vista del Mercedes quien procedía cautelosamente a cruzar la intersección visto que no hay semáforos.

@MrKWisconsin The problem is, how would the parent know? Grades don’t tell the story.

Here is your Sunday morning reminder that if a child isn’t reading proficiently by the end of 3rd grade, they’re 4x more (13x more if low-income) likely to drop out of high school. For many students, the end of third grade is coming up quickly. Every second counts.

Son "Ubers" piratas. No son de la platforma y ya parece qué Una mujer sola se suba a un auto desconocido a las 10 de la noche sin control de ningún tipo sólo porqué dicen qué son "Uber". En Guadalajara. Pa' terminar en el ranchito Izaguirre? No gracias, allà Tu. Tambien muchos quieren cobrar "por fuera" y cobran 800 pesos a Zapopan. Y Los taxis de sitio no quieren trabajar e ir "tan lejos". 🤷

Because MIT doesn't select for "good at math". It selects for passion, drive, and interests that contribute to a better world. I tell you as an MIT EC, in other words an alum that helps MIT with applicant interviews. MIT typically avoids "one-focus" candidates unless they are remarkably extraordinary. There are 100 applicants like your son (aka "good at math") vying for 1 admissions spot. Your son needs to be more interesting than "good at math" to beat out the other 99, and sometimes, believe it or not, it ends up being just luck of the draw. 🤷

@patrickc @Glasir_Grove Imagine that. My son who had perfect math scores on the ACT and the SAT, 4.985 GPA, number one in the state for math and physics and still did not get accepted to MIT. I wonder why…

This week, a math professor at MIT told me that incoming students are, on average, noticeably worse at math than they used to be. Harvard, of course, just added a remedial math class, Math MA5, "aimed at rectifying a lack of foundational algebra skills among students".
