For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years. The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars. It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city. That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.

🇺🇸 This Thanksgiving… I’m thankful for the Constitution, for the rights I’m afforded as an American citizen, and for the wisdom of our founders. Above all, I’m grateful for the First Amendment. The foundation of every other freedom we hold. Around the world, people live under regimes where speaking the wrong words can cost you your freedom… or your life. It doesn’t always take a written law to silence a nation. fear does that on its own. So to those on Twitter this week arguing that certain words, labels, or opinions should be criminal… Please remember the pendulum always swings. The power you cheer for today can and will be used against you tomorrow. And to those on the right calling for criminal penalties for non-threatening speech… How will you feel when a future administration uses that same power against you? Some say they’d “prefer a king.” To the right, who want King Trump, would you feel the same about King Hillary? Once you normalize kings, you don’t get to choose the next one. America has survived 250 years because we protect the rights of the minority even when we hold the majority. If we fail to defend those freedoms for others, we will lose them for ourselves. If America is going to survive the next decade, let alone the next century, we must re-embrace the principles that built this nation. We swear allegiance not to a ruler, and not to a party, but to the Constitution of the United States of America. We must as citizens of these United States live up to the oath that our service men and women give their lives to defend. “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. So help me God.” Happy Thanksgiving. 🇺🇸
