@timilehin_dev Also, I primarily come on here for my own amusement. While I'm not beyond speaking professionally, and posting meaningful content, I'm not a conventionally professional person, and tend to do things in a much less serious capacity. I am also rather opinionated in many things.

@vxunderground Once you begin to grasp the basics, and beat the initial learning curve, the more dense information becomes more digestible. That was the point of the original post. Read it, but probably don't start there, and feel free to step back if you don't feel ready for the material.

It is a well established fact that the more dry, painful, and boring the paper — the better the paper. The brain is a muscle, you need to push yourself into uncomfortable territory, the struggle is real. You will get better. Or just look at cat pictures (that's what we do)

This book must be the sole reason millions of people were permanently turned away from the field because of how ridiculously dry it is. Couldn’t get through half a page without passing out in a concussion coma. Almost convinced me to change careers. Beginners: avoid this.

My problem when I go to explain something to someone else is that I know they don't know anything about what I want to explain, so I try to give enough background for them to understand, but I end up going completely off the rails and landing in the ADHD infodump backrooms.

I have the same respect for radiation that I have for venomous animals: I understand that it *can* hurt me, and keep my distance, but also understand that its existence isn't inherently a threat.

If everyone collectively stopped saying, "Oh well, nothing I can do.", and actually tried to do something, most problems would immediately be resolved.

@IntrovertProbss Translation: "I wish to be acknowledged, and treated as though my presence matters to others, even though I'd usually prefer to avoid group interactions, especially on the off chance that I do decide to go along, despite my own nature."

@karunpal I'm here all the time. I can't get away to escape my own rambling that no one else would ever have the patience to sit through. I'm my own captive audience.

@PR0GRAMMERHUM0R By that point you should be able to handle it on your own. Otherwise, you're doing it wrong.

@Pirat_Nation If you're using uBlock Origin, turn off Quick fixes under built-in filters. They're still trying to work out exactly what's going on, but that fixes it.

I don't condone violence, unless absolutely necessary, but if I catch the inconsiderate bastard who left their half-eaten Chipotle burrito on a shelf in a retail store, I will cave their face in so hard their grandchildren will need reconstructive surgery.

@lauriewired I agree with Tanenbaum, to an extent, but I also believe that reaching the future where microkernels are the norm requires research and development that, currently, isn't happening. I do believe that x86 is awful, and *needs* to die out for us to truly progress.

In 1992, Andrew Tanenbaum made some predictions about computing. 1. Microkernels are the future 2. x86 will die out and RISC will dominate the market 3. Everyone will be running a free GNU OS. An argument ensued between him and Linus Torvalds. But who was right?

@tsoding Everyone's favorite unsolved CS problems. I know there are tests algorithms to identify infinite loops, but that only goes so far. Unsolvable problems require awkward half-mesures.

I'm making a Bot where users define Custom Commands that execute Scripts in a Custom Turing-Complete Language. For Security Reasons I don't want to let the users define scripts that Run Forever. How can I check that Scripts will Never Finish Before Running them?
